@@@@ News From Pigeon Falls – The little town in my garage where the trains still run, dragons fly, and houses might get built.– People are still muttering this morning about Pastor Moe’s worse than usual sermon yesterday. It seems he used words that nobody understood, some in Greek. One of the parishioners was heard to say as they left church “ Hey, we are country people not a seminary class.”
The recently married Fred and Maegie Anderson are building a house. They were going to get one of those houses they build in a factory and put together on your lot but the parents said that was not a good idea. Here father and his father are carpenters and said that those are not well built houses. So the family decided to build it themselves. First they asked Maegie to sketch out what she wanted in a house. She drew a ranch style house with two bedrooms. Her mother said the kitchen was too small. Her father-in-law said a ranch style was not as efficient as a two story. His mother said they needed more bedrooms as there would be children. So the little ranch grew to a four bedroom all upstairs, two bath with a huge kitchen. Not at all like the vision of Fred and Maegie. Then they began to figure out what it would cost. With all the work being done by relatives they could stay just within the budget. That’s when the fighting started. One father wanted the house framed in a different way than the other. They spent half a day arguing over it. Then her father really got upset and took his relatives and quit. His father said that he couldn’t build it alone as they had planned for two large a house. So as of today Fred and Maegie still have no house but they do have two great sets of plans.

In the morning I blogged Betty played with the dog. In the afternoon Betty and I went to tyhe new house and sorted. We threw away a full bag. This is stuff you couldn't give away and (I have no idea why we kept it but its gone now. We filled several boxes of probable give away. We did get a lot done. Now I need a breathing treatment.
