Peace

Saying for the day: Anything worth having is worth fighting for.

I believe that non- violence is important. I believe that peace is important. I believe that peace and non-violence are worth fighting for.
So do students on the campus at Dawood Engineering College in Karachi, Pakistan. Students there put up posters urging students not to fight on campus. The two groups that put up the poster then got into fistfights over who gets the credit for the posters. Apparently every good idea is worth fighting for.
Now what they need is for some group to put up posters urging groups putting up posters not to fight.
We are a strange lot we human beings.

@@@@ News from Pigeon Falls– the little town in my garage where the trains still run, dragons fly, and the buffalo make good burgers-Pigeon Falls is not the kind of town that makes for Western legends. It is not the kind of town where the buffalo roam. But it does have its own little herd of buffalo.
Sometime back Elias Maki picked up some buffalo at a cattle auction. He has developed them into a nice little herd. Nob who runs Nob’s restaurant ( the only real restaurant in Pigeon Falls) buys a buffalo and has it ground up into buffalo burger. He makes it into hamburger patties and freezes them. Then he advertises buffalo burgers . He says that Nob’s is the only place in all of Michigan where you can get a buffalo burger. They are always on the menu at just $6.00 a piece unless you want the deluxe buffalo burger which is $7.00. If you order one he takes it from the freezer, thaws it in the microwave, and fries it in enough fat to make McDonald’s proud. Lots of tourists grab at the chance to have a buffalo burger once in their life. There is a rumor that sometimes he substitutes deer for buffalo but who knows what buffalo should taste like. Local people never buy them they get hamburgers. They cost less and taste better.
Just for fun Nancy cooked some of her bread buns to look like little buffalo and called them buffalo buns. So in Pigeon Falls you could have a buffalo burger or a buffalo bun. What other town gives you such a choice.

Today's Link-Two Kids and a Molting Dog- Two kids with their first ice cream cones- Leave a Dr. John in the comment.
Another good day. We worked in the bedroom at the new house and got a lot done. Just a few things left that need one of my sons to help. we just might get in by the middle of the month. We s6till havenj't found the control for the TV. You can't turn it on without the control. Poor Betty is doing most of the work and dog sitting. The dog drives her up the wall. Tomorrow the man comes to measure for the ride a chair to the basement where the new train set up probably will go. Now I need a breathing treatment.

I've never had buffalo burgers, just jerky. I like it better than deer jerky...or any kind of deer for that matter. Too gamey.

Have a wonderful day, Dr. John!

Buffalo and venison taste nothing alike. Perhaps I should come and eat at Maki's -- and bring a USDA meat inspector with me!

Oooh, a ride a chair. Now make sure there aren't any "Gremlins" around before you test drive it. =O)

I got this really pretty and hefty mug for my coffee in the mail today. It is just the perfect size. Not too small where I have to keep returning for a refill and not too big so my coffee gets cold too fast. It's perfect.

I'll cherish it forever. I promise. =O)
