A gourmet Treat

Saying for the Day-What one man likes another despises.

Since I want this blog to be all purpose today I move in a new direction. I offer today my first healthy gourmet meal.
Needed
Two pieces bread
Butter or other stuff
Jam
Bologna
Sliced cheese
Directions
Toast the bread
Fry the bologna
Butter the toast all four sides
Put jam on two sides ( different slices)
Place fried bologna on top of jam on one side
Place cheese on top of jam on other side
Place cheese side on top of bologna side.
Place in frying pan.
Fry turning often until cheese is nicely melted
Serve with little flag sticking out
You can not beat the taste.
It is healthy it contains one each of four major food groups.
Dairy, meat, cereal, and fruit.

@@@@ News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my garage where the trains still run, dragons fly, and spring is here– One knows it is Spring in Pigeon Falls because the tent lady is back. Every year she comes at the start of spring. She puts up her tent in the parking lot behind Kivi & Maki’s. Then the people who put up her tent unload the truck and fill the tent with flowers. Nobody knows her name. She is just the tent lady. She seems old but she has always seemed old and she has been coming for years. She walks with a limp but people say she has always walked with a limp. The one thing they know about her for sure is that she knows her flowers.
She also seems to know everybody in town by name and more than that as well. She surprised Martha Milson by suggesting some little purple flowers would go nice behind the red flowers she planted in memory of her grandfather last year. Martha didn’t even buy those red flowers from the tent lady but she did put them in memory of her grandfather. She bought the purple flowers.
The tent lady also can tell you when the spring freezes are coming so you can cover the plants. She just seems to know these things.
People ask her all the flower questions. Like what flowers won’t the deer eat. Tent lady says that Pigeon Falls deer aren’t fussy they eat almost anything.
A truck must come during the night because every morning the tent is full of fresh new flowers. Nobody sees the truck come but it must come.
So the tent lady is here and Spring must be as well.

It was a rough day. I spent most of it in bed. My stomach is cramping. I have eaten very little. I haven't touched the computer since this mprning. Now I am going to to take a breathing treatment and go to bed.

I dont think I have ever seen deer eat dandelions. Someone needs to train them to do that -- maybe deer can become useful then.

hi Dr. John!! this is Ingrid. thanx for linking my post for today (re. alec baldwin) in your blog! he just apologized for his tirade (mr. baldwin) but insisted that it should have been kept in private coz it's a family matter, which in a way, he had a point, too, but that wouldn't excuse his odd behavior, especially of that was directed to his daughter.

btw, i've been reading your blog every now and then (linked through ellie's blog) and i'm sorry for never finding the time to leave a comment for you. i turn to your blog if i needed to read something enlightening and your posts always make my day, it gives me a whole different perspective and i'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for that. i've already linked your blog to mine so you'll just be a click away, i hope you don't mind. pls. let me know if it's not okay so i can take off the link, but i really hope it's ok. thanx a lot! God Bless!

What, no Guinness?
Cannot be Paradise!

What a full calf on the hearth,
isn't that meat with no breath
or the living flesh after death

So here's a toast
to the spit roast

I thought you were kidding weeks ago when you first mentioned this.

What flavor jelly mingles so very well with your bologna and cheese?

However, I must be honest.. just reading this is giving me the urge to make Monte Crisco Sammiches.

Ham & Swiss Sandwich dunked in egg and prepared like French Toast. Sprinkled with powdered sugar and served to perfection.

I like your idea of a gourmet sandwich. You can do so much with some bread, butter or olive oil and meat and cheese and veggies and whatever else you may have in the fridge. I call them "artisan sandwiches" and they are my specialty in our little kitchen.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Tummy aches are no fun.

Yes, we are worried. Your last post regarding stomach problems and a fried bologna sandwich --- well, one might put two and two together.

lol quilly - what's that
Can't be paradise if there are no jam doughnuts?

To me Paradise is a hot day with a gentle breeze, or a sprinkling of cool rain!

But hey, that's just Me
I like Paradise Islands
and hot Virgin Islands too!

But I guess they aren't Virgin anymore, when they are full of people and footprints on the sand.

I've made "grilled" peanut butter and strawberry preserves sandwiches. Those are great, but I'm not sure about mixing bologna with jam.

I hope you are feeling better Dr. John, there are so many things that a cramping stomach could be, hopefully it isn't the jelly and bologna. Kidding aside, any pain isn't fun, hope you are feeling better, and it is not serious. Will be thinking of you.

Your sandwich sounds ... uh ... exotic! Not sure if I've the courage to try it. Don't you suppose that you should serve it frosted with Peanut Butter?
Is there a special recipe you have to soothe your tummy? Praying for you.
Seeing the tent lady arriving is like watching for the robins to arrive. THEN, IT'S OFFICIALLY SPRING.
