Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. ~Henry Ford

Help Save OZ from the “Wicked” writer.

Welcome to Command Central.
I don’t have time to chat with you as I am in the early stages of my campaign to save OZ.
I am making calls and gathering a volunteer crew.
There is so much to do.

1. We need to petition Congress to declare the Land of Oz a National Treasure.
( We have to draw up the petition)
2. We need to plan large public rallies ( or small ones) complete with burning of the book “Wicked”.
3. We need to order bumper stickers and figure out the slogan to put on them.
4. Get May 15 declared a National Holiday.
5. Get “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” declared a National Song
6. Heap shame on the “ Wicked” writer for ruining other writers characters instead of inventing his own.
7. Start a national e-mail campaign to save OZ ( decide what to say in the e-mail)
8. Consider a blog dedicated to this one cause an Oz blog.
9. Create a code of ethics for writers
10. Order an extra large tank of oxygen to help handle all this stress.

In the difficult days ahead I may call on you my blog friends to help in this effort.
I will post the first draft of our petition so that you can comment on it.
I will post our e-mail so that you can send it to your many friends.

Remember the “ wicked” triumph when the good do nothing.

We can do it. Yes we can.

News from Pigeon Falls
The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal
Yesterday , late in the afternoon, Herman stopped by the parsonage to ask Pastor Joan about some passage in the Book of Daniel. She had no idea what the passage meant and so went to her study to look it up in one of her better commentaries. When she came back Herman was having tea with Oops. It wasn’t real tea, of course, it was imaginary. But she poured him a little cup from her little tea pot as if was real. It was so cute. Without thinking Pastor Joan asked Herman if he would like a job baby sitting Oops. Herman said he would be glad to do it for nothing but Pastor Joan insisted that she could give him the job only if he was paid. He reluctantly agreed .
After he left Pastor Joan couldn’t believe she had done that. Where did that idea come from? She didn’t even get him to promise not to talk about anything weird that Oops did. But now she was locked in. Oops just smiled and poured some more imaginary tea. This was not how Pastor Joan had envisioned being a parent.
The local DNR Agent is waiting for the report on the water samples he took from the Lake of the Loons. He is sure that Tommy UK in violation of the law poured a foreign substance into the water to keep it from freezing.

Wrap UP
It was 21 degrees below zero this morning. I was going to visit all my links but the internet and my phone kept ceasing to function. I would be ready to leave a comment and the internet would be gone. I finally gave up. I did some more organizing of my computer, a little reading and watched TV. Betty went in the afternoon to Bible Study and I took the rest of the ornaments off the tree.My sister Dawn called. Then I did visit some links. Now I need a breathing treatment.

Could it be that after the enormous effort the whale made to break through the ice in the first place that he is just living right under the hole for now and blowing warm air through his spout to kee it from freezing over again? Are their BUBBLES in the water? Surely we knOw the DNR guy is crazy -- but maybe wildlife LIKES anti-freeze! Who knows? Really?

I think Herman ane Oops will get on fabulously ... and Herman knows sO little about children that he probably won't even realize that Oops does anything unusual. But HOW's that DR. problem coming along? I have a friend - Dr. John - HE might help Pastor Joan out!!!

You know the best publicity campaign any book can have is to be banned? Yep. People start making a big to-do about the book, people whod' never heard of the thing suddenly do, and decide they have to read it to figure out what's going on. The "wicked" author is gonna love this campaign. He might even send a contribution to fund televised anti-Wicked commercials.

I agree. To me it's a real shame when an author cannot come up with his or her own work, and the best they can do is mess up something that was best left the way it was!

I'm being such a poor visitor these days, but I should be improving again now as life settles down again. Thank you for visiting so regularly while I've done so little.

I love your Christmas dragons - one thing that's always welcome to dragon addicts is yet another dragon!

Maybe the whale is saving itself from the freezing water by producing some greenhouse gas of its own.

-21? Ugh! It was -40 the day I moved AWAY from Minnesota! I don't ever want to see temperatures like that again... EVER! Put a fire in that fireplace and toast your toes with a good book! (not Wicked, I presume!)

I'm not thinking too much Pastor. We'll talk one day... I'm definitely doing everything I can to get to where God wants me.
