Stick to it.

Saying for the day: Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there. ~Josh Billings

Do you have what it takes to stick with an effort to the bitter end? Perhaps, you need examples of people who know how to persevere . Well her are a few:

Takahiro Fujinuma, 37, was arrested and charged with making at least 2,600 calls (perhaps more than 10,000) to directory assistance ("I would go into ecstasy when a lady (operator) scolded me," he told a reporter) (Tokyo; January). [Courier Mail (Brisbane), 1-30-08]

Ms. Lee Amor, 23, pleaded guilty to calling or texting her jilting ex-boyfriend more than 10,000 times over a 65-day period (South Devon, England; February). [Daily Mail (London), 2-12-08]

John Triplette was arrested, suspected as the one who made more than 27,000 calls to "911" since May 2007 (consisting mostly of mumbling and making bodily noises) (Hayward, Calif.; February). [KTVU (Oakland, Calif.)-AP, 2-15-08]

Paul Kavanagh, 40, was sentenced to 30 months in jail for making about 15,000 calls in 12 years to women asking them about their underwear (West London, England; November). [CNN-AP, 11-9-07]

Can you imagine 15000 calls asking about underwear.? Now that’s perseverance . Or sending 10,000 text messages over a 65 day period. His fingers must have developed blisters. Or how about 27,000 911 calls? If you mumbled that much could you remember how to speak ? Or making 10000 calls to directory assistance so the operator could scold you.

These are people who knew how to stick to a task.
Let them be a shining example.
And remember they would still be doing their thing if they hadn’t gotten arrested.
So when you have to do your 1000th load of laundry and you want to give up stick to it!
When you just finished your 1000th blog and are thinking of quiting . Stick to it!
When you go to your job which you have hated since day one and your thinking of throwing it in. Stick to it!
When you have written the same page of that never finished novel fifty times. Don’t quit. Stick to it!
Remember you haven’t been arrested yet.
#### News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal. Pigeon Falls has now raised half of the money that it needs for the matching funds to renovate the Latimer place into a museum. The Methodist ladies are planning a big pasty sale to raise more money. The ladies from Last Lutheran have offered to help them. It will be a big community project. It’s planned for the day of the big bathtub race on the Pigeon River. That brings in a lot of tourists and some really crazy bathtubs. They should be able to sell a lot of pasties on that weekend.
Pastor Joan has been busy gathering information on the Churches that used to be in Pigeon Falls but are no longer. There were at one time four different Lutheran Churches and two different Baptist Churches. Perhaps, since Last Lutheran is the only one left that’s why it’s called Last Lutheran. In any case, she is gathering old hymnals, bulletins, minutes, anything she can find. She has a Finnish hymnal, a Swedish hymnal, and a German hymnal, and a hymnal titled Real Baptist Hymns. All of these will go to the museum.
Pastor Joan has also gathered pictures of the old church buildings. She has asked a retired woodworker to make little models of the churches for the Church room and he is more than willing. The only time Pastor Joan is more excited than when she is talking about this project is when she is in the pulpit talking about Jesus.
Petrovich is also excited and is giving another $ 2000 to the project. He thinks that at last the Great Seer will get some proper attention. They have promised him a room for the history of dribblets and Pigeon Falls.

Today's Link- No Pity- A chance to go back to old time radio.
Another day without much happening. In the morning I worked on the computer. Betty went to Bible study. I added another family to the internet list at St. Marks. In the afternoon we went shopping and I got some new ink for the printer.Betty picked up pop and groceries. Then I printed out February's blog entries for my sister Dawn. Just as I finished she called. They got lots of snow last night up North. Our snow is almost gone. She is against the war in Iraq so is planning on voting for Obama. I'm still confused .Now I need a breathing treatment.

"She is against the war in Iraq so is planning on voting for Obama"

There was war in Iraq before 5 year ago. If the vote had gone Obama's way back them, Saddam's war againt Iraq (with tens of thousands dying each year at certain times) would have continued, along with his wars against Kuwait and Israeli. A blind "drop our guns and run away" retreat would leave the remnants of the terrorists to continue war against Iraq.
