Love When Your Old

Saying for the Day- Sometimes love lasts forever.

I love sweet love poems and want to share
This one with you.

Old and Beautiful
You fill my dreams with unspeakable pleasure.
Your beautiful face greets me every morning.
You make my heart beat and push my pace maker.
For years you have been there for me.
I have but one question.

Who the heck are you?

@@@@ News from Pigeon Falls-the little town in my garage where the trains still run, boys talk to rocks, and Liars have a club of their own.

The Pigeon Falls Liar’s Club Announces its first annual Dragon Story Telling Contest.

Rules for the Liar’s Club Super Dragon Contest
( a contest is known by its rules)
1. Almost any creative writer is welcome to take part.
a. Dr. John’s relatives
b. People who can only be creative if they can use potty and sex words.
c. The guy who sideswiped Dr. John’s car in the Pic and Save parking lot.
d. Dr. John’s wife’s relatives
e. People who feel the more words they use the better.
f. Members of the Pigeon Falls Liar’s Club local or honorary.
2. Entries are limited to 500 words more or less. Dr. John keeps a short blog. Be creative. Keep it short.
3. No potty or sex words. If you can’t be creative without them tough. My granddaughter reads this blog.
4. The story must be about a dragon or dragons , real or imaginary, old or young, smart or dumb, but dragons.
5. There is no word list.
6. The contest will run for three full weeks starting today.
7. You can enter more than once.
8. The Liar’s Club reserves the right not to publish every entry but every entry will go to the judges.
9. No attempt will be made to hide who wrote each entry.
10. Judging will be by the members of the Pigeon Falls Liar’s Club.
(Oh yes it has members)
11. Entries should be sent to me at
12. Winner will get :
The”Dragon Lady” trophy (Priceless ie-without value)
An art cup by Javanagogh (your choice) see them HERE
A nice certificate with dragons.( What more could you want?)
13. Losers will receive an E-mail certificate of participation, that you can print out.
14 . Entries will be published in the Pigeon Falls section of Dr. John’s Fortress as soon as possible after being received. They will also be seen on a separate website in the order in which they were received.

15. Decisions of the judges (no matter how stupid) will be final.

So sit back and compose a wonderful short story about dragons. Then send it in. You don’t have to contact anybody to vote for you unless, of course, you know some Liar’s Club members.

Today's Link-Sweden in Pictures- A Photo Blog- Today take a trip to Uppsala- It' s not Helsinki but please leave a Dr. John in the comment anyway.
Now I need a little help. If you know of somebody who might enjoy writing a short story about dragons would you let them know about the contest.
A nice day today. It was almost warm. We went early to the DMV and Betty got her Wisconsin deiver's liscence . Then we found a little train shop in the same mall and I go to talk to a some guy who is building a huge layout. I haven't talked trains in a long time so that was good. From there we went to Hobby Lobby and looked around. Then to the Old Country Buffet where I ate too much. From There to Steins which is a flower and gift shop. Then we came home. Betty then went to get her hair done and my sister callled. I blogged and now I will take a breathing treatment.

Dr. John -- I shall compose as soon as my life calms -- that should take about 3 weeks. I am working 4 jobs now -- that is why you see me so seldom.

I teach school. Two days a week I tutor after school. About 6 hours per month I prep for and teach teachers how to teach writing. I am teaching Satuirday School (No Child Left Behind tutoring inititive) and I still require 15 to 30 minutes of sleep per night or I'm just not at my best.

Saturday School ends in two weeks. After school tutoring ends in 5.

I am honored that you would choose my work for the prize.

I will recuse myself from the award. I have been working on a story, but I would be eliminated by exception #2. How about 500 different words? :-) I am really trying.

That made me think of sorting through address labels with my mom yesterday (those ones that charities send hoping you will send a donation). Mom has a whole drawer full of them. I suggested maybe they could be useful if she ever gets alzhimers, that she could cover all the walls with them so she'd know her name and address. She laughed and said more than likely she'd be looking at them and wondering who in the heck that pain in the butt person was that covered her walls with stickers.

As I grow older, I am not getting more absent minded. I am getting more focused.

Funny thing about love
or so I've been told
that it can last forever
and the within never age
the image of love behold

Beauty may come & go
youth may come and fade
but love can hold the beauty of youth, and youthful beauty too.

Dr John

I think I am going to pass on the contest. I am not a good liar. Ask Quilly and the Lie I did on her blog last year. I will enjoy reading the lies that come in though. I would have loved being on the walk you had today to the Hobby Stores. I am like a Kid in a Candy Store when it comes to hobby stores and the trains.
