Moo Moo

Saying for the day: What you hear may not be what you should have heard.

If you look at the Finnish word list you will now find two words for grandmother.
Finnish like English often has more than one word that means the same thing.
I decided to include “Mummo” because it is a word that rises up out of my past.
Often when I visited my cousin Raymond they would talk of going to Mummo’s house.
I thought that was a strange name for a grandmother.
It seemed like they were saying Moo Moo and it had something to do with a cow.
The only grandmother I had was called Gram, or grandma , or Mom , or even Mabel but never Moo Moo.
I don’t know why but it never occurred to me that mummo was in another language.
I suppose if my Finnish grandmother had lived I would have called her mummo and then I would have known.

@@@@-News from Pigeon Falls– the little town in my garage where the trains still run and dragons fly– Thomas O Bradley IV , the writer who lives in the old Hermit House, stopped at Nancy’s for coffee last evening. He was the last customer of the day. Nancy said he asked an awful lot of questions but then writers are like that. Aside from asking questions he seemed sort of nice. He liked her coffee and had two saffron buns. He seemed very interested in her great , great grandfather the inventor.
Since one of our four teachers was out this week Eino’s wife has been substituting. She says it has been a real joy and that Pigeon Falls has wonderful students. Tommy, the undertaker’s kid, wrote a paper called “ The Edge of Nowhere” that seemed so real it was almost as if he had been there. She shared it with Eino to show him the high caliber of writing but Eino looked more upset than pleased. She has no idea why.
Mrs. Schmidt did a program down at last Lutheran all about her Hawaii trip. She even had pictures of some churches they saw there and the one they went to on Christmas Eve. One of the husbands whose wife went to the program complained that the church shouldn’t put on programs like that. Soon all the wives will want to go to Hawaii for Christmas and who will take care of the cows?

We went to another church today. The people were friendly. The singing was great. The pastor is a very good preacher. She even did a children's sermon that kept all the kids interested adnd I know how hard that is to do. She also made sure that we didn't escape without talking with her. This could be the church. After church we did a little shopping and then went to Peter's for the day. Got home just in time to get a call from my sister Dawn. All in all a good day. Now I need a breathing treatment.

You need to do voice posts like Mimi so we know the correct pronunciations. I think that it is funny what some people call their grandmothers, mine is Mom-Mom and my kids call my mom, Noni

My Grandmother was always known as Gram. I never knew my Dad's Mum as she was in Scotland and she died when he was just a boy.

Blessings to you and Betty for a good week.

Dr. John, we had a guest pastor yesterday while ours is off at seminary "brushing up." The guest sat down with the children and immediately found -- to her dismay -- that her prayer shawl and robe sash were of much more interest than her words. And she had a dozen children touching her clothing, face and hair. She handled it well though.

I am so excited that you think you have found a church! It is so hard to be well and truly settled without a place to worship. And I am all in favor of those female pastors!

Hey there this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs
use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
