Saying for the day:-Some days are more important than others and this is not one of those days.
Today is a nota day. They come every once in a while, usually sandwiched between two big holidays. You know…
Nota day to return things – we did that already.
Nota day for leftovers– we ate the last of them yesterday.
Nota day for big parties– those are held tomorrow night.
Nota day for cleaning– we are all cleaned out.
Nota day for visiting– who has the energy left?
Nota day for News Years resolutions– Monday we make and break those.
Nota day for writing great blogs-if there is such a day.
Nota day for blog visiting-most people aren’t writing.
I guess its just a nota day.
So I’ll spend it with my grandsons.
Perhaps we’ll go to a movie.
What have you planned for your nota day?
News from Pigeon Falls– The little town in my garage where the trains still run and things are very quite for the moment.– Mrs. Smythe had a big welcome home party run by her neighbors. They put a big sign across the garage door. Nobody noticed until the celebration was almost over that they spelled welcome wrong. The Smythe’s were welomed home. But nobody really cared as there was plenty of good food and lots of Hawaii stories to be told. People really did miss the Smythes. Mrs. Smythe was so overwhelmed that she even started to cry at one point in the party, when they gave her the welcome home gift. She said that Pigeon Falls people are the nicest people in the world.
Nancy, who helped plan the party said that Tommy made the sign and she thinks he misspelled welcome on purpose. Tommy says he would never do a thing like that but there was a big smile on his face when he said it.
Toivo Jupola, Eino’s brother, was the toastmaster at the party. He knows more jokes than anybody else in town. One never knew there were so many Hawaii jokes. The one about the guy that was going to Hawaii but ended up in Alaska was really, really funny.
Eino didn’t go to the party. He was home going over the video tapes from the break in. He is still trying to figure out how they got the hermit statue out of the basement without it showing on the tape. Tommy told him he has to face the possiblity that it walked out on its own but Eino isn’t accepting that. He says that statues don’t come to life and break doors. It just doesn’t happen. Then Tommy reminds him of what they saw at the end of the track.
Plans continue for the big New Year’s Eve party at the Fly Inn. It will be the biggest party in town. One has to wonder if our dragon won’t be tempted to make an appearance. Mrs. Trumble may very well be waiting with a loaded shotgun. She’ll get that dragon yet.
