......The pigeons came back to Pigeon Falls today. Nobody knows why they came back or for that matter why they left after the big storm. Whatever the reason there they were this morning sitting on the Town Hall roof and cooing as if they had never left. People are so happy they even forgave them for what they did to the Pigeon Statue, while hoping that it was not a comment on the statue itself. Pigeon Days would just not be Pigeon Days without pigeons.
Mrs. Wilson Mcmorison III hit the curb coming into Pigeon Falls again today. I don't think she ever misses it. She usually parks up on the sidewalk as well. Because she is so rich nobody wants to tell her how to drive. Some brave person suggested to her that she get a chauffeur. She said, " She has always done her own driving and always will". She has no relatives to talk to her unless you count Fred Bubster, who may or may not be a relative. Mayor South has even suggested she be banned from driving in town while we still have curbs and sidewalks but she was only kidding.
Well the big announcement came today on who RM is. Mayor South went to the bandstand at 12:00 to give a "short speech which will include the celebrity who will lead the Pigeon Days Parade". Well at 12:30 she hadn't gotten to the celebrity yet. She had, however, thanked everyone who had anything to do with Pigeon Days. She thanked banner hangers, planners, workers, committees, and even the pigeons for coming back. It was like watching the Academy awards where they go through all the Oscars you don't care about before they finally come to the one you want. At around 12:30 she made the announcement that everyone was waiting for. The celerity who would lead this years parade was Ronald McDonald. He was even bringing two clown friends and McDonald's was sending a special railroad car with him. Well I'll keep you informed as to what's happening in Pigeon Falls.
..... Very good night last night. I slept till 6:30 this morning. In the morning we went to Iron Mountain to shop. we had breakfast at the Great Northern Buffet. The food was great and it was a joy to watch Bree eat. Then we went to the dollar store . Bree got a surprise package for Luke.
We bought a truck and a tractor that were the right size for the garden railroad. Then we went to Wal-Mart >We got paint we needed, some dollhouse furniture for Bree, some dog candy for Peter's dog, some craft supplies for the garden railroad and a photo printer for Betty. Its kind of an early Christmas gift. It has its own little screen and doesn't need my computer. Betty can put the card from her camera into the printer and print out the pictures she wants. We bought a package of 50 4x6 sheets so she can have plenty of pictures. Both Betty's sister and my sister called today to give us information on the trip to Greater America. Our bathroom is done except for the painting and I get to take a bath tonight, boy do I need it. In addition to the new bathtub we have a new toilet which is higher than the old one making it easier for me to use. We also have a new sink. Well I am going to take a bath right after my breathing treatment.
