Six More Words
Today's Saying
History: An account mostly false, of events mostly unimportant, which are brought about by rulers mostly knaves, and soldiers mostly fools. ~Ambrose Bierce
I hurt!So I am alive.
As usual the talk at Nancy’s is about the latest driblet although the problems at the Town Hall are also getting some attention. This time nobody seems to have a clue as to what the Driblet means. But they have an opinion about the Town Hall. They are sure, except for Eino, that it’s gremlins. Eino, of course believes it is just a series of coincidences.
This morning every light in the Town Hall exploded while Mrs. Trumble was outside talking and the clerk was home with the flue. There were glass pieces everywhere. The town’s part time electrical person says there had to be some kind of huge power surge for that to happen. He found the transformer behind the Town Hall burned out. It looked like some squirrel had committed suicide on it.
The Pemberthy’s are convinced it’s the gremlins from Old Mrs. Pemberthy’s yard. They have told Mrs. Trumble she should go and see the old lady on the mountain. They also told her to take $100 and get rid of them once and for all.
It was a good day. We left the fortress and went shopping. I looked at Windows 7 but didn't buy. I bought paper, ink, and some card stock. Then we went to the Party Store and I bought some Halloween things. Then we ate out. During the day I visited fifty six word blogs and all the Wordzzle blogs on the linksy. Now I need a breathing treatment.

Let me tell you, that power surge was so huge it took out my porch light all the way here in Hawaii. I am so glad I hadn't opened the back door yet or it would have shot glass at me! I just hope I got all the pieces swept up. We're barefoot a lot around here.
I've never thought of it like that. I certainly hope that includes aches and pains :) Ack...a squire committing suicide...poor thing :)
I wouldn't agree with that quote of the day. I think history is ALSo told by the no so fools and no so rulers... although it's true it is almost all about them rulers and fools and how badly they did it, though they tried...
...just don't get used to the pain!
have a great day!
xoxo
Never thought of it quite like that !!
Caroline
Happy 6WS
When, sir, is pain good?
When it reminds us we live
rather than perish.
My Six Words
Better than the other way around.
and I would take all those aches & pains over the alternative! :) Happy 6WS
I understand your simple but powerful words. That goes for emotional and spiritual hurt, as well as physical.
Dr. John, I have it all figured out. The city doctor who has an office and the Town Clinic above in the Town Hall building was cooking up some really good 'stuff.'
Your Driblet 19 is a new page? How am I to keep up with all these un-indexed pages?
I do have the driblet figured out as to where and what the 'it' will be if the voice is not fended off:
"That which was now is not.
That which never was is now.
Find then the giver of the curse.
She alone can restore the balance.
But she must not know it is hers.
Or lost forever they will be
Forward then
Back to where they had been."
This is the mechanism of a swing. Here it is a porch swing. Always the riders are looking forward, then back with hope which will be fulfilled, only to be frustrated, ad infinitum, until balance, equilibrium, is reached and the swing stops.
..
And sometimes it is good to hurt, just to be sure that one is alive.
Isn't the Bible all History? I don't think I agree with your quote today!
I'm sorry you hurt... but I totally understand that philosophy! Must be what they meant by hurts so good - huh? (maybe not...)
I'm so glad Mrs. Pemberthy has come forth to tell the mayor about the old lady. I hope she GOES! And takes $100!
And I'm soooo glad you got to see your friend yesterday! What a great surprise! :)
I hope the pain goes away so you can enjoy living.
Love your six words ! Pain does remind us that we are alive (if we let it).
Blaming the squirrels seems like an easy way out.
The doctors keep telling me versions of your six words. "The good news is, you're not dead yet!".
Thanks for playing 6WS!
Well, that's one way to know you're alive! Hope you don't hurt too much.
WOOT Dr. John. Victor Newman is going to be back on The Young and The Restless. I see Eric Braeden signed with the soap.
Gremlins are a horrible infestation.
Silly Saturday #4 - Purdie Pyrate's Halloween
Thank you, Dr. John, for visiting my blog! Question: Is the picture above seriously your 'fortress'? Might I say, Wow! You have a very neat blog! :)
((hugs & blessings))
I am sorry but gremlins are just a little pesty, not that much to worry about.
Candy corn and comic books should do the trick!
Love Di
I've found that painful days make you appreciate the pain free days more! May you soon have a pain free day, but be alive to enjoy it!
I think the Pemberthy's are right. this is no time to scrimp and save. They seem to be multiplying.
I would also need a breathing treatment after visiting fifty six blogs, lol !
I am still happy with my Window XP, for what I use the computer I don't need more. I am all the time on internet anyway. I don't play games, I don't have household documents, I just have photos in here. For that I don't need a new thing !
I thoroughly enjoyed your quote by Ambrose Bierce. Incredibly well said...
Your 6ws is also too true!
