Monday Again Monday
Saying for the Day: Comments have a value in and of themselves.
The week’s seem to be going faster and faster.
Here we are at another “Leave a Comment Monday.
This past week was chaotic.
We lost a friend at the start of the week who quit blogging only to come back at the end of the week.
That is a bit confusing.
One very good friend got sick and we postponed out mini-marathon a week to give her time to get well.
I went back over the comments for the week and that are lots of kind and insightful comments but there wasn’t one that stood out over all the others.
What did impress me last week was Chana’s blog.
She is so humble that she had trouble with our paying attention to her illness.
So she lifted out all kinds of people with problems for us to be concerned about.
I am not sure that in the midst of the kind of pain she is in I would have been so nice.
So Chana because you are the wonderful person you are I’m giving you ten extra JCPOINTS ( I know they aren‘t worth much but what else do I have to give?).
Wednesday we run our mini-marathon.
It will be shorter and ask for fewer visits.
It will require you to do a group of five at a time.
The groups will be in categories like “ English blogs “ or “ Military Wives “.
To finish the marathon you will have to finish six categories.
There will be 12 categories to chose from.
A few other things will be different as well.
Those who finish the marathon will receive a blogger snow globe.
I look forward to the experience.
We remind you tomorrow is a day to think of peace.
Click on the globe on the side for information.
Today we will draw for a chance to PIC A PRIZE . Good luck to you all.

News from Pigeon Falls– Well Eino got very confusing news from the FBI. They said they found Robert Stenwal (Our Hermit) living in Maine. He told them he just got tired of living in Pigeon Falls and moved back to his old home. He doesn’t understand what all the commotion is about. Eino asked if he could have the man’s telephone number to talk to him but the man at the FBI said that Stenwal told them that he didn’t want to be bothered by anybody from Pigeon Falls and he even had an unlisted phone. Now Eino is more confused than ever. Is this man the real Hermit or is he a fake. If he is a fake who put him up to this/ The government? Or the Company? Or is the company a government front? Every time poor Eino gets an answer it comes with more questions. Now Eino doesn’t know where to go.
Well tomorrow Pigeon Falls has an election for Mayor and sic Council members and it has no candidates. A couple of reporters came into town and spent time at Nancy’s asking questions , drinking coffee, and eating saffron buns. One gets the impression that something from those visits will make the national news and its not the saffron buns. Speaking of the saffron buns, however, one of the reporters made arrangements with Nancy to send him a dozen every month. Could be Pigeon Falls has a new cottage industry starting up.
There is a rumor going around town that Dr. Fortress is thinking of closing up the railroad and moving away. What will happen to the town then? On e also hears he is looking for a buyer. Of course, right now, its just a rumor.

My sister came at 7:30 this morning and we went out to breakfast at Fob's. Jack Kovisto met us there which was a surprise. He ate with us and paid for the meal. Jack is a lay preacher and a lector at the church. After breakfast my sister left for Illinois. we went back to the house and Jack came over. He shared two sermons he had written with us. They were well done. Jack was a student of mine and he has learned his lessons well. Each sermon came to the heart of the text and carried a word from God for today. After Jack left my other sister called to see if my younger sister had left. My older sister leaves for New York tomorrow. I spent the day working on the Mini Marathon list for Wednesday. The real estate lady called to tell us that the closing is being postponed until the 15th which means we don't go to Neenah on Thursday. Just when everything seemed to be in order things change. The people who are selling the house have an illness in the family that forced the change. Well I need a breathing treatmenmt.

How did yesterday go for you?
The FBI didnt do a good job. I googled Robert Stenwall and found him playing soccer in Sweden. The guy in Maine is a fake.
oh dear Dr. John, now i'm all embarrassed again..gulp..how nice of you to have said these words but really there was just a real need to write about all those ladies. it is hard to feel sorry for one self when you see how many people are going through some real hard things. when i read our friend's blog, and share in their lives i feel so useless. it is hard for all of us to see them all hurt and not be able to take it away..
I know how much it helps me to feel everyones warmth and love, so it is only right to share that back. and it amazes me Dr.John, how these womem, who are suffering so much, can still give of themselves and help others, help me. Now tell me, if they are not heroes amongst us.
my flare ups are hard. but it's part of what i have, i just have to deal with it or roll over and play dead and i can't do that, i have 5 kids..and besides i'm no quitter, way too stubborn and proud, lol.
they come out of nowhere and that is what makes the disease a bit hard to get used to.
Nea, has to deal with the same. she handles this way better. i have so much to learn from her and she is so kind to let me bug her. besides, as hard and scary as it is being sick, it is our love ones who go through worse i think and i think you would agree.
i know how hard it is for my family when i get sick and my poor kids..and Joe, he is so kind and supportive and he is sooo patient ..I have so much to be grateful for..Mixed Connective has my body but i still own my heart and i'm not giving it up i tell you, lol..that i learned from my dad.

Cindra Jo has a very special friend. Her name is Betsy. She is a head, lol..no kidding, she takes her with even on vacations. it is adorable..i think Eino should give her a call, for i think he should just incorporate the Hermit statue into his life..He should just take him everywhere and make him part of the family. If the real guy is alive and well, than he has been looking after a statue and that is all..
I hope the national attention on the town will bring some focus on important issues. no one can replace Dr. Fortress..the town will miss him terribly.

i'm all embarrassed but i thank you and Betty for your friendship and your love. it means the world to me. i had a great wknd..the pain is under control, the inflamation is way, way down. so don't worry, i'm back-again, lol.
now you take care for you have to stay healthy..we all need you. Love to the family..hugs to Betty.
Ps..your points are not useless and i thank you. and what to do you mean you don't have anything to give? don't you know how much you do for us and give us each day? it is infinite blessings..
I have to say it's really very nice and genuine of you to be so involved in the blogging community--such a positive and uplifting person. This encourages a lot of bloggers out there--just by what you're doing. I'm very impressed!
Thanks Doc!
So first halloween, and then setting fire to Guy Fawke's
well that should have cleared the air of any 'demons' - lol!
Als but no, All Saints and all hallows was about lighting a candle and communing with the spirits of dear departed ones, somehow got lost in the fog of ghost stories and Freddy Krugger
Bonfire night used to be about letting go - burning old furniture, old leaves, old trees, dead wood, old clothes, paintings, dolls, art , (even problems), ...
and making way for the new
But people have forgotten what it was all about, and like Xmas, they become just another hectic day, yo rush around shopping, cooking, dressing-up and eating ... only to find the real magic or 'sparkle' has fizzled away.
And tomorrow is just another day with the exactly same problems brought over from the previous day.
So here's wishing you a new day, in this icy cold sunny wintery day
So burn or let go
of something today
and Start a whole brand new day!
Sorry I missed visiting for a couple of days because of my open house. Was yesterday the Sunday you were going to preach? How did it go?
The marathon format sounds like fun.
Don't believe what the FBI tells you.
I think you should give Chana a million JC points!!!!!
There was an old shark named Gramps,
Whose Jaws had once been like clamps;
But these days he hums
'Cause his jaws are just gums,
And can only be used to lick stamps.
Poor Eino, I fear he has himself embroiled in a wicked conspirarcy. The guy in Maine must be a fake, who'd ever leave Pidgeon Falls voluntarily?
Oh dr. John, U are just the greatest! I won! ...and I have just got to have lucky #7--the penguin snow-globe! I luv snow-globes!
No-Dr. Fortress can't close up the railroad and move away. The town needs that railroad! Someone must stop him!
Hey....wanna know how it was yesterday????
Was it as good for you as it was for them???
You have sucha caring spirit, Dr John. A pastor's heart that shines out even into blog land.
HI Dr John,I am so happy that it's Chana you are giving them points too,My friend you have made me happy by doing that. You are a star.
Wish you well
Chana was distilled from pure love. She is one of the kindest and most compassionate people I have ever had the pleasure to encounter.
Bummer about the house, man.....
The poor hermit... But ya know, Maine? Why move back to Maine when you can live around the White Rabbit! :0)
I feel sort of silly. I was "chased" away from blogging by a "nosy" family member, but I missed everyone too much and decided I couldn't leave.
I can see by the posts here that this is a real, caring community and I like that feeling.
Cheers,
Josie
Oh, boy. Isn't that how it goes? Just like John Lennon said, "life is what happens to you when you were busy making other plans..."
That is so sweet of Chana to think of Betsy!
so sorry to hear your move as been postponed hope you get a new date soon
