A Quilly Day

It is a Quilly day. Time to take Quilly’s three words for the day and write a story. The words are quiddle; uxorious; glabrous

Police Chief Ican Getum was not one to quiddle. He felt strongly that more investigation was necessary before Charles was brought to trial. But the District Attorney felt that this was a slam dunk and her uxorious husband , the Mayor agreed with her. She was as sure that she could get a conviction as she was sure of the glabrous state of a bowling ball. In fact she said several times, “ Charles will be innocent when a bowling ball grows hair.”
The police chief was no idiot. He knew he served at the whim of the Mayor so he turned in to the DA only the material that helped to prove Charles guilty. He did not want her ordering him to stop investigating. But he quietly provided any other evidence to Charles’ s attorney Don T Winmuch.
Today Chief Ican was questioning the oporopolist that was the only known witness to the crime.
Again he heard how arguing in the street caused the owner to move toward the window only to have a bullet break the window and smash the lemonade cooler so he never got to see the crime. So Chief Ican asked “what did you hear ?”.
“ I couldn’t make out the words but the woman sounded desperate” the fruit seller said.
Chief Ican now realized that either Charles had an accomplice or Charles wasn’t there at all. They should have discovered this the first day. What sloppy police work and by his men. Now how do you tell the DA what she really doesn’t want to hear.
To be continued tomorrow .

Alice reminded me that with Quilly's words comes the required quivel. Remember to write quivel you must write something that looks like a poem, any style , but is so bad that if it was printed in a book of poetry a true poetic zoilist would tear it out and burn it. What looks like bad haiku is really qiku where the middle line must always contain a Quilly word.

The Husband
At her job she did nothing but quiddle
The time away she like to fiddle
She had a husband so very uxorious
That he still would treat her glorious
A handsome man he really was
Glabrous man he became because
She shaved his head every day
Just to keep the girls away.
She was smart he was dumb
Happy with every little crumb
She gave to him along the way
No doubt he’s there today.

Of course the dragons will be busy today you can see them HERE.
News from Pigeon Falls
The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal
Both Tommy UK and Oops pushed their power to the limit to hold back the demon’s attempt to crush Herman while he was down. They bought Herman enough time to get back on his feet. Then the battle raged on.
It was obvious to the three of them that they would lose. Perhaps , even the universe would lose as one extremely powerful demon would easily be able to destroy the enforcers by the time they got here.
Still he continued to increase in power and push them back only now they felt his power beginning to surround them, forming some kind of compartment.
It was at this point that Oops realized that he wanted the three of them as his next power battery. He could pull all of their power into himself. They had to hold on or destroy themselves to keep the power out of his hands. They had no choice.
Is this the end of Tommy Uk, Herman and Oops. Are they destined to be a power battery for a demon. Is this the end of Pigeon Falls? Will Oops destroy Tommy, Herman, and herself?

Another good day. I tried to call my sister Dawn but the " happily retired people" were not home. In the morning Betty painted the birdhouse that has sat on our desk since Betty's sister gave it to us.In the afternoon we worked on a birdhouse stand for the bird house . Then Betty painted that. Tomorrow another coat of paint and then we will attach it to the fence. Pictures will follow. I visited everyone who left a comment yesterday and everybody on the linksy that did Quilly's three word challenge. Now I need a breathing treatment.

Interesting story, all you need is for Columbo to solve the crime, and you got to admit that he was uxorious towards Mrs Columbo, and his Basset Hound.

Wonderful, waiting for the next page.

Finally a question as to who is and isn't guilty -- in the meantime, what is the real killer doing?

And the last quiddle made me giggle!
