Why go to Church?

Saying for the day:We should so fear and love God that we do not despise His Word or the preaching of it but gladly hear and learn it. Martin Luther

Why do I go to Church to worship?
I don’t have to.
I can worship anywhere.
I have had great worship experiences in the woods and even on an ore boat late at night .
What hauls me to church every Sunday and makes me feel that I’ve lost something if I don’t go?
Three things:
1. The Word preached. God has a message for me.
2. Holy Communion– I encounter Jesus in a very special way.
3. The fellowship– Here God’s people gather.
Those three things make up for all the shortcomings of the physical church.
Yes almost anything bad you can say about is true. Yes the sinners in the congregation are not always nice. They don’t always act like Christians.
Yes there are Pastors who are bad preachers. You have to listen harder to hear God speaking but He still speaks.
Church is all about God and God working with sinners.
I’m a sinner. I have to be there.

#### News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal. The celebration yesterday was just about perfect and had a special ending. Of course there was that little problem when Nancy Schmidt got sick and heaved all over Mrs. Truuscott. She should have settled for half a pasty and less ice cream. But other than that people laughed and sang. The Tommy Club got their official copies of the official pronouncement in a beautiful ceremony.
But the cap to the festivities came right after the fireworks. The town dragon made an appearance just as people were getting ready to go home. It flew slowly down the main street and then, to everybody’s amazement, it was followed by two little dragons. They breathed smoke but no fire. It was so cute. Mother dragon and her two little one’s flying down the main street . Even Mrs. Trumble looked to be moved by the sight. Then they flew off toward Mt. Hillary. People clapped and waved. It was a wonderful ending to the evening.
Fudd still hasn’t been found. The State Police have not been able to get the government to give them the “ restricted information”. The Sargent said that it could mean a number of things. Fudd could be in the witness protection plan. He could be an informant for the CIA or FBI. He could be an undercover operator for some federal agency. It is impossible to tell.

I ended up to sick to go to church today. I was seventeen points below low normal in terms of oxygen. I also had terrible stomach cramps. I spent most of the day in bed. It was even worse because my Son Peter and my Grandkids came and I missed most of the visit. Now I need a breathing treatment.

Everyone is having kids. But how come not the White Rabbit? If anyone should be multiplying, it should be the rabbit.

Pigeon Falls may burn yet -- two baby dragons learning to breath fire sounds like a hazard to me!

I'm wondering how 2 baby dragons came to be if there is not a 4th dragon somewhere... Maybe dragons are more magical than I thought...

I am sorry you missed church! Yesterday... I can link you up to some of my Pastor's sermons... if you'd like! They're GOOD ones! It won't help out with fellowship and communion... but The Word is certainly there! If you're interested... go here.
