End of a Tale

Saying for the Day:Success has a great tendency to conceal and throw a veil over the evil deeds of men.Demosthenes
Time to finish the elf tale of Sir Lostalot.
We left poor Lostalot on the back of a huge, nasty dragon. He had to decide quickly how to use the one wish he had left. He had two objectives:
1. He wanted to save the village from the dragon.( His task as a Knight)
2. He wanted to get back to King Arthur’s Court alive.( Very important)
He could not wish the dragon dead or he would fall into the ocean and since he was wearing a heavy suit of armor he would sink like an anchor.
He could not wish himself back to the Court or the dragon would go on killing and eating the people of the village.
He thought of wishing that he and the dragon were in the round table room but he wasn’t sure his fellow knights could defeat the dragon. Then he would go down in history as the one who destroyed King Arthur’s Court.
Poor Lostalot, his head was hurting from all the thinking. He knew he didn’t have much time. Once the dragon reached its cave it would find a way to get him off. There might even be other dragons that would help to turn him into dragon fodder.
But then it came to him. Like somebody lighting a candle in a dark room. I would have said like a light bulb being turned on but they hadn’t been invented yet.
Like all great ideas it seemed so obvious when it came to him.
He shouted “ I wish this dragon would from this time forth obey all my commands.”.
There was a flash of light and a voice said “ As you have asked so shall it be”.
Instantly he discovered he could communicate with the dragon by thinking. He did not even have to speak. He directed the dragon to fly to King Arthur’s Castle. The dragon turned and flew in that direction. An hour later he flew over the castle.
Sir Lostalot decided to leave the dragon on a hill outside the Castle town. He would surprise everyone with it later.
As he entered the town people looked at him with disgust. One even asked how he would dare to show his face after what he did. When he reached the castle he was told that cowards were not welcome there.
It seems that the six knights on returning all told the same story. The dragon was the biggest they had ever seen but they felt the seven of them could defeat it. The plan was for three to attack from each side. Then while the dragon was distracted Sir Lostalot was supposed to come running in and cut off its head. But when they turned to see where Lostalot was he had dropped his shield and sword and was running for the hills.
Now we my dear readers know this was a lie and that the six knights were the cowards. But there were six of them and their word against his and he hadn’t been there to defend himself. So the round table voted to ban him from the castle, forever.
As part of his banishment Sir Lostalot was entitled to take with him a sword, a shield, and one horse and nothing more. So he rode in disgrace out of the city , not the homecoming he had expected.
When he reached his dragon, he allowed it to eat the horse. He wouldn’t need it. He strapped the sword and shield to his back and mounted the dragon.
Just once he circled the castle and thought of getting even. But he was not that kind of Knight. He was a good Knight. And so he flew reluctantly away.
That is why there are no legends of dragon riders in King Arthur’s Court. But he flew across Europe stopping to eat and feed the dragon . In each place local legends persist to this day of the one who rides the dragon and dragon sculptures can be found.
He ended up in China where he brought the feudal warring groups together and became the first great king. His thrown was surrounded by statues of dragons.
Despite all of this he was never really happy. He didn’t want to be King he just wanted to be a Knight.

#### News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal. Just as Fudd was about to return to his room ,where he would have caught Tommy UK and Tammy , Mrs. Trumble appeared and began to apologize to him for the action of the Tommy Club in picketing. He told her he understood. At that point Tommy PK returned and called Tommy UK. By the time Fudd got to his room they were gone.
Tommy UK is now convinced that Fudd is something other than a rabbit hunter. There were no guns. There were strange boxes. There were bottles of gasoline. It simply made no sense. No sense at all!
So Tommy UK went to see Eino. He told Eino what he had seen and asked Eino to do some checking on Fudd. Eino called his friend at the FBI who got back to him late last night. It seems that Elmer Fudd the rabbit hunter is in Australia. But if Fudd is in Australia then who is this Fudd that is in Pigeon Falls? Eino was now so concerned he called a friend at the State Police Post. He explained what he had seen and since there is no local police force he asked him to get a warrant to search Fudd’s room.
Why is this man pretending to be Fudd. Will the police get a warrant? What will they find. Does this fit driblet 32? And of course is Tommy UK really the undertaker’s kid? These and a few other questions could be answered tomorrow.

Good breathing day. My oxygen was right on the edge of normal. The best it has been for several days. Betty and I went to the clinic in the morning and had blood drawn. Every three months their vampire gets hungry and they call and ask us to feed it. Betty went to get Maggie, who got loose and she had to chase her. I spent the morning reading. After lunch Betty went to hrelp Pennie clean and I finished reading the book. Then I worked a biot at picture organizing and visited some of my links. Betty and Pennie went out for super to the Olive Garden. Now I need a breathing treatment.

I'm thinking Sir Lostalot should have ridden his dragon back to the castle and asked the other knights if they wanted to change their stories.

I'm thinking the Fudd at the Fly Inn is the monster out to burn the town (some monsters come in human form).

I continue to love the sharing of your pictures. I have a brother named Harold, but he looks nothing like your uncle!

OH, if I were the White Rabbit, I would be sure not to take any carrots from any strangers in the near future -- especially if they sound a little liquidy inside. 'Cause "everyone" knows wabbits wove cawwots.
