I was Robbed

Saying for the day:Crime takes but a moment but justice an eternity

Yesterday I read Margaret’s blog and she told about being robbed. It brought back memories of many years ago at United.
It was the morning after the national elections. I went in to the office, a little closet size room in the basement, and found a shocked secretary. She had come in to find the door kicked in and the computer and copy machine gone. The boot print of the guy who kicked in the door was embossed in the wood. He must have been one big fellow and I was glad I wasn’t there when he came in.
The office which had always been a friendly happy place now felt different. We had been violated and things would never be the same again. The crook or crooks were never caught.
I bought a cheap Radio Shack alarm and attached it to the office door. A year later somebody kicked in the door again but this time the alarm scared them off. At that point we called in a professional and had an alarm system installed in the entire church. In some future blog I’ll have to tell you how that alarm system almost killed me.

.@@@@ News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal. School was closed in Pigeon Falls yesterday. They joined schools all over the U.P. in closing. The kids love it. They get a day off to play in the snow. Later in the season it will take more snow than this to close the schools.
One of the youngsters was throwing snowballs at Nancy’s window when he suddenly found himself hanging in the air. He was carried across the street and dumped in a snow bank. Then snowballs started flying at him with nobody throwing them. He ran home and didn’t come out for the rest of the day. Sometimes poltergeists can be helpful.
Despite the snow plans go on for Saturday’s big Christmas Craft Sake. Tables are being hauled out of storage to add to those at the sale locations. People are gathering their crafts together. Snow may stop the schools but it doesn’t stop Pigeon Falls free enterprise.
Petrovich got together with Wink’s Woods and they have bobble head figures of the great Russian Poet and seer Alexis Grengicoff made .Petrovich paid for it and he is having them sold for less than it cost him. On the base it says “ That you might know”.

Today's Link-Life disguised in HuMor-- A not too bad joke to start the day with.
Busy day. I went early to get blood drawn after starving for more than twelve hours. They took enough blood to feed two vampire bats. Then we came home and wrapped the last two railroad cars I sold. After that we went to the hearing center and had my hearing aid adjusted again. Then we went shopping. Betty bought more plaster cloth at Hobby Lobby . We went to Best By and bought a new wireless printer. Got home and worked on various things in the afternoon. We are waiting to hear from Peter on how Bree is doing. Now I need a breathing treatment.

i am sorry your secretary had the scare of her life and that you guys were violated. it is sad to know someone wouldn't just steal but to do so in God's house it just boogles the mind.

i'm glad the second time, 'they' got scared off but still it most have been another great fear. i'm glad you had a professional something put in. it doesn't sound like there was more break ins after that for that i'm grateful.

i hope the poor secretary had a good support system at home that helped her heal.

i'm looking forward to reading how you survived the alarm.

i hope your lungs are okay. i dearly hope Brea is out of hospital and breathing well again. pls tell her and Lori we are sending them hugs and our love with prayers.

hugs to you all. God Bless.

Being robbed is such a violation. I remember not feeling safe for weeks. My sense of security was the most valuable thing they took.

It's tough and I'm still shaken up a little bit. The boys were arrested yesterday and the one who lives next door will be arraigned in court this afternoon.

I slept good last night knowing they were in jail - but I don't know now, I'm a little nervous that the judge will set bail and let them go. Then he's back next door again. =O(

I'm sorry that had to happen to Margaret...and your secretary! My car was broken into and things stolen, and once someone climbed up to my 2nd floor balcony and stole my bike while I slept...it feels really creepy to be violated like that.
