Forward by Ralph 1

Saying for the Day- Good friends are always sharing with each other.

I have a friend named Ralph. Everyday he forwards me interesting things. He should have a blog called “Forward from Ralph”. Some of what he forwards is funny, some is religious, and some is political. Since I really have nothing to blog about today I thought I would share one of his contributions with you.

YOU PROBABLY HAVE SEEN THESE...

Don't let your worries get the best of you; remember, Moses started out as a basket case.
Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.
Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.

It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.
The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.
When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there.

People are funny; they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.
Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever.
Quit griping about your church; if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.

If the church wants a better pastor, it only needs to pray for the one it has.
God Himself does not propose to judge a man until he is dead. So why should you?
Some minds are like concrete thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

Peace starts with a smile.
I don't know why some people change churches; what difference does it make which one you stay home from?!
A lot of church members who are singing "Standing on the Promises" are just sitting on the premises.

We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges.
Be ye fishers of men. You catch them - He'll clean them.
Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

Don't put a question mark where God put a period.
Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.
Forbidden fruits create many jams.

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
God grades on the cross, not the curve.
God loves everyone, but probably prefers "fruits of the spirit" over "religious nuts!"

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
He who angers you, controls you!
If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats!

Prayer: Don't give God instructions -- just report for duty!
The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.
The Will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.

We don't change the message, the message changes us.
You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to..........discourage him.
The best mathematical equation I have ever seen: 1 cross + 3 nails= 4 given.

@@@@News from Pigeon Falls– The little town in my garage where the trains still run, dragons fly, love is in the air, and theories are everywhere.-Pastor and Mrs. Marvel left for Florida this morning. Mrs. Marvel looked so happy. The last big vacation they planned had to be canceled on the day they were leaveing because old Frank Everboom died. He had been a member of Last Lutheran forever. Once he was Council chairman and a Sunday School teacher. He always sat three rows up . On the left hand side, three spaces in.Pastor Marvel said that he owed it to Frank to stay and do the service. Mrs. Marvel didn’t say anything but she really looked sad. Not only didn’t they get to go but they lost money on all of the reservations. By the time the funeral was over they couldn’t afford to take a vacation. But this morning nobody died, the sun was shining, and they left. Now if anybody dies Pastor has told the secretary to call the Pastor at First Lutheran. He didn’t even leave a number where he can be reached.
Eino met with Tommy last night and suggested another way of looking at all the facts. Suppose the government wanted our enemies to think it was developing a fantastic new device that could move entire armies from one place to another instantly. A device that could remove the building they were hiding in. A device that could move an entire army camp from one place to another buildings and all. You couldn’t announce it because then they wouldn’t believe it. You could leak the information but there are so many leaks that they aren’t believed anymore. So instead you set up the Hermit to pretend to be doing something strange. Then you replace him with a stone statue. You arrange for the story to reach the networks and the tabloids and then you claim you know nothing about it at all.” Remember”, Eino said.” How we wondered at the time how the national press found out.” Next you send in the army and you refuse to let people in or out. You give no reason why. But you let a boy and an old man get through . You arrange just beyond the tunnel where the trestle starts for a rear projection screen. It looks like there is no trestle but a drop and an expressway. We believe it and don’t dare to go any further. But we don’t tell anybody. Then the government leaves and gives us reasons for the “Occupation” they know nobody will believe. More speculation in the tabloids and the national news. Then they do the thing to remove the stone man. They want us to think it came alive and left on its own. It played that way in some of the tabloids. There were headlines like “Stone Man lives again”. Next they made it seem like the building vanished. A magician’s trick. Only three of us saw it and one was a drunk. But the tabloids still had a field day. The headline read “ Building Won’t Sit Still”. All this time the Pentagon is saying it has no such weapon being developed. A high ranking General when asked a direct question said “ I never comment on possible weapons research.”. There is a huge item in the budget that can’t be accounted for. You see it could all be smoke and mirrors . Tommy had to agree that both theories work.

Today's Link-Fugetaboutit- A laugh to start the day or to pick up the day- or to end the day. Enjoy and leave Dr. John in the comment. He can find his own way home.
Well today was a DULL day. We did not bake. We did not leave the Fortress. We did nothing. I did a little blogging. Betty cooked meals. But that was it. Retirement what a fun time it is. Now I need a breathing treatment.

Hi Dr John, thank you for the sharing. yes, it's easier to give sermons than to live one. How true! We are the witnesses instead of judges, yet we are tempted to judge. Just wish that I am not the stumpling block of others.

I would think the govt would want to perfect the technique of teletransporting an individual first before they would attempt to do that with a whole army.

I've seen most of these before - but it's so nice to have them all in one place.

If you didn't have anything to blog about you could have done the "tag optional" book tag I recently posted! It turned out to be an interesting one.

I've seen these too, but they're just as good the second time around as they were the first.
Also, I really liked today's link- love the way he writes with such humor about ordinary things.

I've heard all of those sayings before, but thanks for sharing them. It was good to read through them again. They are funny, but there's much there to think about.

I like Tommy's theory better.

Hi!

A silent blog, a listening ear...
there's not always a necessity to talk and write.

Well, it's nice to have so many saying at one place, as some others before me have said too.

Thanks for wishing me a happy birthday.
I appreciate it a lot.

Hello. Keka had a clinic appt. today @ children's hosp. she was referred at the beginning of last june and her appt was today. although i'm complaining over the incredible wait, i'm grateful she was seen. the pediatrician GI specialits/nurses were awesome. the new children's hospital is huge, huge and just breathtaking. her visit was a full 3 hrs of one on one and we have a few things to try out and new meds and such. the specialist will send another request to see if the ex-pediatrician might take her back. we feel happy and optimistic for i think at least her GI issues will soon be a thing of the past. we are schedule for the rheumatology clinic for april 5 and that is another accomplishment. than her scleroderma will be checked on. we wait for the endocrine clinic for thyroid..life is coming along. it was very hard (physically) for me but that good thing Dr. John is that i was able to do it. that shows how much better i'm. God is good sir. i will (hopefully soon) write a post on this all for God gave me a second life on the 8th. i'm so lucky for i am here and i can raise my kids. on the 8th i was given more time, again. God is good and merciful. i'm so overwhelmed with gratefullness to Him. miracles happen daily. some are big and some are huge. some are small, yet they happen all over and to us all. i'm so happy for my heart is full of joy. i can see how much He loves me and looks after me. We are so lucky to know Him and love Him and see His working hand in our lives. i complain too much, too often and it is important to shout out loud once in a while for all our blessings.

you and yours bring me so much love and your friendships means is so dearly to me. thank you. you not only are in my life but have bought with you so many others that make my world that more beautiful. thank you.

i hope you have a small idea of what you have done for me and for so many others. you and Betty are quite something. you two remind me of the goodness i saw in my great-grandparents. i tell you, there is no better compliment i could ever give.

thank you for your blog. thank you for your post and for Pigeons Fall. for Tommy and Eino and pigeons and mystery and dragons and rabbits and for magic and for the joy it brings so many.

thank you for the links. i haven't been able to read them yet or leave your beautiful name all over the place. but with time that too shall come and i will do it with so much pride.

it is not news how much i love you and Betty and all the Linnas. i love our little community and i'm so happy to be part of it. thank you for so much.

now be healthy please. we need you. and Betty too. sleep well.

James and Bev are now at home again, another blessing, another gift, another joy. i'm so happy for that. thank you for your family prayers for them. for all of us.

Moses started out as a basket case.
Moses never entered the promised land, neither will many who think it is their birthright

Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.
Many folk wantto be gods, or Expect to be served by God

It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.
Do unto others as you would have done unto you. What you wish on others may be wished upon you

The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.
Mosquitoes and mosquitoe larvae feed many mugrating birds

When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there.

People are funny; they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.
Everyone complains about everyone else in a traffic jam in rush our

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever.
We expect to be forgiven often, but are quick to clamour for vengeance, retaliation or punishment of others

Quit griping about your church; if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.
AMEN!

If the church wants a better pastor, it only needs to pray for the one it has.
nothing is irreplaceable, and many pastors will get their just reward for leading their flock astray

God Himself does not propose to judge a man until he is dead. So why should you?
AMEN!

Some minds are like concrete thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.
Yep! They may think they are being strong minded or strong willed, but even hard concrete will turn to dust

Peace starts with a smile.
AMEN!

I don't know why some people change churches; what difference does it make which one you stay home from?!
Quickie divorces allow you to find a new partner, but you'll still have to learn to live with them

A lot of church members who are singing "Standing on the Promises" are just sitting on the premises.
No one is guaranteed a place. Money may buy you the best seats on Earth, but it gets you nowhere in the end

We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges.
And lest you forget, those who are lawyers & judges on Earth, shall be judged harshest of all on Judgement Day

Be ye fishers of men. You catch them - He'll clean them.
Fear not getting caught in the net - no, not the internet. lol!

Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.
Don't put a question mark where God put a period.
