Thank you blogger

Saying for the Day:It is good to let somebody know we are thankful for them.

I want to take the time in my blogging adventure to say thank you Blogger.
That’s right “Thank You Blogger”.

I know that’s not what we usually say about Blogger.
We complain when its slow.
We complain when we can’t get in to somebody’s comment box.
We complain when we get one of those “the technician has been advised” notices.
Those things always seem to come at the wrong time.
So we carp and we grumble.
And we say there goes Blogger again.

But not today.
Today I want to say that I marvel at what Blogger has done.
It has taken thousands of people with limited computer skills and made it possible to have a blog of their own.
In fact they have made it possible to have as many blogs as they want.
They have done this in such a way that it doesn’t take long to learn enough so that we can get our thoughts out to people we have never met.

It does all this and it works most of the time.
It has some pains.
They are growth pains for the most part.
They come from serving so many people that there is more of a chance of some part going wrong.

The best part is they have done this without charging me a cent.
Not one red cent.
Its free.

So because I love blogging and because I am really frugal.

Thank you Blogger. Thank you very much.

News from Pigeon Falls-the little town in my backyard where the trains still run and old ladies hunt rabbits-Eino invited a rock carver in to look at the stone statue in his basement. Fredrick , is an old friend of Eino’s who makes his living carving stone statues. He examined the statue and told Eino he had never seen anything like it. It isn’t carved . There are no marks on the surface to indicate that it was chiseled or sanded . Further it isn’t plaster or cement but it has the feel of something that was poured. The stone seems like marble but it isn’t. It seems to be some kind of pressed rock. Fredrick is stumped. So Eino still doesn’t know if this is an elaborate fake or an experiment gone wrong. Perhaps he never will.
Somebody tried to break into Eino’s garage last night. It happened at about midnight. Eino has an elaborate alarm system and it went off. The outside camera got good pictures of the intruder. But it doesn’t seem like a local person. Eino sent a copy of the tape to the Homeland Security People in the hope that they might be able to identify him. Eino says he isn’t local but he still looks familiar.
Nancy says the big topic in the restaurant now is the school sports name. People are not happy with the “ The New Potatoes” as the name for all the teams. The students have gotten a lot of ribbing from students at other schools. The opposition cheer leaders are having a field day with. It could be worse . They could have changed to” The Pigeons”. The school board better put some more thought into this name business.
So far nobody has indicated that they would be willing to run for Mayor or Town Council. Day by day the list of non-candidates is growing. Jack said he would but he goes to Florida in the winter. It would be a long commute for meetings.

We got up late this morning. Betty got up very late. We tried Tylenol PM last night and it seemed to have worked. I finished Dawn's print out. In the afternoon we left the fortress and went to Iron Mountain. There we got a new burner for the stove, ate at dairy queen, and went to my favorite collectibles store. I now have prizes through to the end of December. they are unique. You don't get this great stuff at Wal Mart. I decided I would start the Halloween stuff this Monday as it takes a long time to get to people. Well I need a breathing treatment.

Amen to being thankful to Blogger. I have met so many interesting people and made a few really wonderful friends who I can't believe I ever lived without. I said to one of them the other day while we were marveling over just how this whole blogging thing had turned out "Trust God to work through the available technology!"

Yeah I can see why "the new potatoes" is not a hit. LOL!

You are right about blogger. It has given us all a lot for free, despite it's techincal issues.

I'm so guilty of often getting frustrated with blogger. I forget so often all the gifts, all my friends, it has given me. I'm grateful that you have helped me put it in it's right perspective. You are right, thank you blogger, throught you my life is better.

Eino has an experiment gone wrong in his garage. It is 'that' company that cleared his house and is always giving out fake numbers that are trying to get him back. They need him to erase the last trace of 'whatever' they were doing. I hope they don't get their hands on him. Then for sure, we will never know.
I love my potatoes. I can eat them daily..Mashed are my favorite..as much as i like them, i think the team best choose another name or get a thick skin for they will always encounter teasing.
Somebody has to run for Mayor. Can a town really manage without someone to lead it?

Thank you for the perspective and the better attitude you always show and teach.
I hope you both have yourselves a wonderful day.
Take care. Hugs and love all around. Read you tomorrow.

The Pigeon Falls New Potatoes? Hmmm Perhaps they should ask the Freeport, Illinois Pretzels or the Scottsdale, AZ Community College Artichokes how they handle
oppostion teams' comments. Perhaps they should form a league based on the basic food groups.

Thank you Blogger! I love it but am getting a wee bit - less on the love. Not because of their faults - but because I need to put some love elsewhere.

Come to think of it, you're right. I do sometimes complain about blogger but that's because my patience runs out at times especially when I'm so eager to post. However, without blogger, we would not have been meeting many friends from different parts of the world. So let me join you in saying Thanks to Blogger too.

I feel like i'm in the minority here... I've been on Blogger for almost 3 years now, and I can honestly say that I don't grumble or complain about the service at all. that could be because I only actually use it about one every couple of weeks, though... ;)

Yes, this world is becoming a smaller and more friendly, tolerant place thanks to the Internet and the things on it. I'm glad to finally see a piece of technology that united instead of divides.

I don't use Blogger any more, but still, they are the granddaddy of the whole blogging business...so thank you, Blogger, for being a pioneer.

Yikes! I hope Eino keeps the alarm system in working order. I'd hate to see the statue disappear before the mystery is solved.

Wow! An appreciation to blogger! That's great. You know, back in the day, we would have paid for a limited amount of space on some dinky website. Blogging not only makes us better writers, but we network with other interesting people.

So I'm with you...Thank you blogger!

I myself have complained more than once about blogger, then I am reminded by a power greater than blogger that we should not complain as we are charged not one penny for the use.

I mistakenly switched to the Beta-Blogger a spell back when it first came out, and there are still some bugs that need to be worked out.

For awhile I couldn't leave comments on Non-Beta Blogs, and some other folks couldn't comment on my blog.

Thankyou Dr John for reminding us about blogger and it's free gift. Blogger has brought together a lot of nice folks.

Dr. John, every time I get the urge to grouse at bBlogger I remind myself that it is free -- and I was raised with better manners than to complain about gifts.

Indeed, thank you, Blogger.

Aloha Dr. John,

Mahalo Nui Loa (Thank You Very Much in the Hawaiian Language) for sending other bloggers my way! I TOO am grateful for Blogger in so many, many ways! If you noticed (and I'm sure you have), I am VERY grateful to Blogger and taking them up on their generosity with many blogs! :-) I see you have a second blog which directs people to other interesting, helpful blogs as well. One of my other blogs does something similar: the Way Khool Sites blog. Like yourself, I love blogging, bloggers and BLOGGER! Loving Blessings, Kuanyin
