More Internet Facts

Saying for the day: We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true. ~Robert Wilensky, 1996

Today I perform my weekly public service. I give you fifteen internet facts . These are things that you can astonish your friends with. Of the fifteen “facts” one is a “real fact”. Past real facts have included the Mona Lisa has no eyebrows , Jimmy Carter was the first US. President to be born in a hospital., and the original name of Bank of America was Bank of Italy.. But the facts I make up could be true. I am a really good maker upper. In any case you can tell your friends “ It must be true because I read it on the internet. Today’s list:

1. The oldest existing chair was found in a tomb in Egypt.

2. Gatorade was developed in Florida.

3. Kodak made and sold more cameras than any other company.

4. The original name of the Kodak company was Kodiak after the bear. It was later shortened to Kodak. Cameras with the original name are worth millions.

5. Butterflies taste with the tip of their wings.

6. In Wisconsin it is illegal to “bother” squirrels.

7. In Neenah only Police Officers may shoot birds.

8. After the US Japan is the largest software producing country in the world.

9. The 4th of July is the only day of the year in which there is no professional sports games .

10. Chocolate Jell-O is one of its best selling flavors.

11. No dog has ever been hit by a meteor. They can sense them coming.

12. The first animal on the International Space Station was a cat brought by the Russians.

13. Country dogs live longer than city dogs.

14.. If not bothered by humans the average polar bear lives to be fifty years old.

15. The name Wendy was made up for the book Peter Pan.

Remember you can quote any of these facts and say you read it on the internet. Would the internet lie?

#### News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal Tommy UK went to his uncle’s in Iron Mountain last night on the last train out. His father did not seem very happy but Tommy UK was beaming. This is his very favorite uncle.
Thomas Lackmet who tried to shoot the town baby dragon was cited today for bringing a rifle into town. There is a town ordinance that forbids the bringing of guns in to the community. It was passed to protect the dragon from Mrs. Trumble. It carries a heavy fine and poor Thomas can now add that to his pain and suffering.
Last night our three dragons did their thing. Mother drgon seems so proud. The papa dragon was nowhere to be seen but people now have the feeling he is watching and given Thomas’s experience nobody wants to get him upset. At least he didn’t burn down the town.
The White Rabbit was seen at the railroad station this morning by the people on the milk train. It waved and smiled and winked. Then it hopped away. Although some of the people said it didn’t hop it sort of flowed away.

Today's Link-The Thoughts and Sayings of Babba Doodlius- The sheep Hobbit plot exposed.
A good day. Oxygen was up three points. Not up to normal but up. I visited all the alphabet blogs in the morning. At noon we went to see " Prince Caspian". I really enjoyed the movie. Came home and visited almost all my links. Betty and Pennie went shopping. I watched two hours of " House". Now I need a breathing treatment.

More quilts! But Queen Penny was the perfect choice for Q. I am loving that you have brought the challenge your family theme.

The rabbit flowed? Maybe that's why he always waves?

Hi Dr. John - I had to come by and see your quilts today. Our posts complement each other in that you showed the time and effort these lovely ladies go into to produce the beautiful results in the quilts we show.
So Babba says he knows the correct "fact" and I think I do - are you going to tell us?
Wonderful post again today!

I don't know what happened to the comment I left this morning... blogger plays tricks on me. I was wrong on the guess I had (according to Google it was an untrue rumor) - oh well. You sure make up convincing facts!
