Bad Endings

Saying for the Day: I wish there were a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence. There's a knob called "brightness," but that doesn't work. ~Author Unknown
The television season has ended and a lot of shows had their final episode for the year. I only watch a few shows so I can’t speak for all of them but the endings I saw were disturbing.
On “House” they killed off Wilson’s wife. I liked her. She could put House in his place and she took no nonsense. What a terrible way to end the season.
On “CSI Miami” Horatio lies on the tarmac and could be dead. He’s the lead character but they end the year by shooting him.
On “ Criminal Minds” the show ends with one of the regular crew being blown up. That means real change in the fall.
On “NCIS” they killed the Director and broke up the team. Who knows what we get in the fall!
My favorite shows each with endings for the season that I’m not happy with. I liked all the characters they killed off . I liked things the way they were.
My only hope is that
Law and Order CI” which will end late in the summer will end by killing Logan. I don’t care if they push him off a cliff, blow him up, shoot him, poison him or have him sock the Mayor. I just want him gone. I loved the show without him. Sometimes losing a character can be a good thing.

Old Christmas Cards

#### News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal .There was lots of activity in Pigeon Falls yesterday. The Homeland Security people called in a team of doctors and had everybody examined. None of them seemed to have any adverse effects from the happening.
Then they interviewed Tommy UK who told them of the high level sound that human ears couldn’t hear but the animals could and how he had used a high frequency sound meter to locate the source of the sound. He told them of starting to open the door of the shed, leaving out the part about picking the lock, and hearing the ticking starting. He told how he had run and shortly there was an explosion. Then one by one people started appearing.
None of those who had vanished had any memory of the time in which they were gone. It was as if they had never left except they did remember fading out.
Homeland Security gathered up all the parts of the storage building and took them back to Washington for evaluation. They hope to find some clue as to what caused all of this.
They also want to talk to Petrovich who is in Russia visiting a Monastery. They are now checking out his website for other clues..
But life in Pigeon Falls is back to normal.

Today's link-Zen Wizard- An answer to the gas problem. a staycation.
Had a really rough night last night. We were out of my breathing medication so no treatment. In the morning I visited all the blogs on my link list. Betty took Maggie for a walk. I took a three hour nap in the afternoon. Then I practiced telling tomorrow's elf story getting it ready to write down. Betty got the Dr. To write a one month perscription to carry me until the medicine comes in the mail. It cost $100 for one month. But tonight I will have a breathing treatment.

I think they need to interview the dogs as they were the only ones who heard the humming.

My shows for the season ended with dancing with the stars and american idol. I gave up on everything else a long time ago.

I didn't like how Law & Order SVU ended. How were you with the Last Episode of Dallas when they Shot JR. I never liked JR, I was rooting for Sue-Ellen's Sister to get away with it.

A Blessed Day is wished for you and Betty.

Bones is my favorite show and they ended with one of the main characters turning out to be in cahoots with the bad guy they'd been after all season. That was a big surprise.

Thanks for the shout out.

I think the TV writers--who aspire to be movie writers--saw all the lame endings on movies nominated for Oscars, like "No Country for Old Men" and "Michael Clayton" and decided that they should do lame endings, too, just like their heros.

Maybe Logan had a conflict with the "Sex and the City" schedule.

(Speaking of TV writers who want to be movie writers...)

I collect Xmas cards, don't have the heart to see them go after the holidays. Very beautiful sights of your archives!

A couple years ago every TV season ended with a character beloved to me dying. I spent a week crying and another week mourning -- then I realized they weren't REAL anyway -- and have never turned the TV on again. Why should I put myself through that over fake stuff when real life is more than painful enough?

I watch very, very little TV - hard to watch and use the computer at the same time! - but I do watch and enjoy NCIS. (Actually, I had a "thing" about David McCallum when he was Ilya Kuriakin in "The Man From UNCLE", and he's always worth watching) We get these shows a while after you do. Now I'm worried!

Like your Christmas cards.

What next in Pigeon Falls?

Thanks for the summary. I see I didn't miss anything. Not watching that stuff isn't any worse than watching my favorite ball team lose night after night, which I didn't see either, because I was in your state last week. But they won in 12 innings last night.

My friends all read novels. I used to read like a maniac, but for some reason, I gave up reading novels about 20 years ago. Now if I want to read a novel, I can find out the end and then decide if it is worth the time. You might want to find out the end of the season and then see if the reruns are worth it instead of seeing the new shows. Just a thought by a twisted mind.

Hi Dr.John,
That quote is sure terrific today.
I love House - he's a complex guy.
Your photos of Christmas's past are a testament to time and family and all because two people fell in love.
Have a wonderful evening and thanks for visiting my train tracks in the sky today.

Well... now ya know how I felt with the Tommy UK story and the disappearing personage that IS Pigeon Falls! I AM glad to hear that the pieces have been gathered - and that Petrovich is under examination... It makes me feel sO much better -- now I can go ahead and forget about it because we all know bureaucracy will tie that sucker up in red tape until we've both gone home to meet our Maker! :)

Isn't it FUN looking back at old photo Christmas cards? That is something I really do wish I had done with my family! Don't know why I never did... Yours are great!

I don't know HOW to thank you for updating me on the (happy)ends of all my favourite shows !! Now at least I can sleep in peace knowing that Horatio will give up his soul anyway he got on my nerves because when he speaks he holds his head always on one side ! we are usually one or two seasons behind you because all the shows have to be translated to allow Dr. House to speak a perfect French, German or Italian !
What about the desperate housewives ? Will the street been blown up by terrorists ??

oh wow they killed off Wilson's wife? I hadn't met her yet. House is one of my favorite shows but I can't stand to watch an episode a week adn be in suspence. So, I wait till I am sick and then rent the seasons of whatever I am wanting. I have only gotten thru the first two seasons of House. Bummer.

Wonderful photos today Dr John.

I spend a fortune on cable for TV and even with millions of channels there is nothing decent to watch. Too many reality shows which I refuse to watch. Thank goodness for PBS and the Discovery channel and such. I like House and NCIS and they certainly had very heavy endings. Do you think all the actors just want to do something else for a change?
I hope you have it a bit easier now you have your medicine again.
Take care Dr John.
