Just Little Old Me

Saying for the day:Once a new technology rolls over you, if you’re not part of the steamroller, you’re part of the road -Stewat Brand
Once I said I would never have a color television set because black and white was fine. Then my congregation gave me a color TV for Christmas and that ended that. Now I have not only color but HDTV as well. I still think black and white was good enough.
I write this because in recent posts I have commented on the fact that I don’t have a cell phone and had no plans to get one.
Well that has all changed. My daughter came in last night and gave my wife and I new cell phones. She now has us on her cell phone plan. She said we need them if the power gores out or if we are in the basement when a tornado hits.
Now I see myself in the middle of a store getting a call from one of my kids. I will be one of those silly looking people with a cell phone ( I am already silly looking).
The fact is if you have something you will end up using it. That’s the way it is. Even if you never wanted it the temptation to use it is still there.
So if you happen to be in a mall in Appleton and see some old guy riding on a scooter and talking on a cell phone that will be me. Just stay out of the way because I won’t be watching where I’m going.

The Alphabet Photo Challenge is being sponsored by Quilly at Quilly's Pacific Paradise. There's no time like the present to jump in with both feet and PLAY! It's fun!

#### News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal. The Petrovichs returned this morning on the milk train. Well Petrovich did. His wife stayed in Green Bay . The story is that her mother isn’t well so she stayed to take care of her. But people think that she might have stayed to see some Doctor in Green Bay about her pregnancy. She knows that there are leaks in the local clinic. For a short time there was a rumor that she was going to have triplets instead of twins. A good number of people believed it according to Nancy. It turns out, however, that Tommy UK started the rumor just to see how far it would go. Now there are people who are sure its true and Tommy UK is lying. A small town is a wonderful place to live.
The White Rabbit has made no appearances since Mr. Fudd’s arrived. He doesn’t seem to be doing anything. He spends a lot of time in his room at the Fly Inn and Tommy UK remarked he will catch no rabbit there. Mrs. Trumble thinks he should be out in the woods looking for the demon rabbit. But he says he has his own way of doing things.

Today's link- I was Born2Cree8- Part of Quilly's Alphabet picture thing.
Not a bad day. My oxygen was a little lower than yesterday. I visited all my links and left comments on most of them. Then I spent time sorting through old pictures for the alphabet picture thing. Sometimes I know just which picture I want but can't find it. Betty planted Rose bushes in the new garden area. Pennie was home all day cleaning. I began to get the March blogs ready to print out to send to Dawn. Now I need a breathing treatment.

I bet if you check Mr. Fudd's bill at the Fly Inn, you will find that he has ordered the Cartoon Network for his tv. He is probably studying the behaviour patterns of wascally wabbits.

How is it that Jan always reads my mind and gets here before me to post my comment? She's originally from Pigeon Falls, isn't she? (Although I thought he was probably watching DVDs, so her comment is funnier then mine would have been.)

Dr. John, there is a photo of a church up at my place today I think you may want to see.

There are days when I could cheerfully pitch my cell phone into the pond, but then, there are other days when I am thankful that I have one. You'll probably be the same...I'm glad you have people who love you enough to want to be sure you stay connected to them.

I received my first cell phone from my daughter on Mother's Day 5 years ago on a promotional two for one deal. Never thought I'd use one before that - now it goes with me everywhere. Rats.

The picture of the kids pulling weeds reminds me of Tom Sawyer. Very cute.

Once you have a cell phone you just can never imagine life without one again. It is a "necessity". Have fun. Make sure you have a horn on your scooter. :) Nothing like road rage and cell phone talking.

Well I don't agree that Black and White was good enough but it was our children who insisted we get HDTV and gave us the set. Admit it, you love it. If only there was something decent to watch on it!

I'm very fond of the alphabet photo of the day - that's very well done.

Congratulations on your cell phone. They are stupid - but nice to have when you need them.

We bought them for driving on the highway. There are no call boxes here in Colorado and as the most unfriendly state in the country, no one stops. Period. Now they are a way of life.
