Coming Flowers

A Picture Story from Jeff's Portrait of Words
This story was written by Betty and I together. I would write a line and she would write a line. The only other rule was that neither of us told the other where we wanted to go but we both tried to work in the pictures of the day. Again as unbelievable as it may sound no wives or husbands were injured in writing this story. It is posted on both blogs.

Metha was having a hard time in this new world where the songs she was hearing were not the ones she knew and loved. Even the kids hair was different as the hair of the girl in the yard across the street was a dull brown. Not the bright blue of her own, but a dull brown, which was another difference of the worlds, the colors of her world were so much brighter.
The food here was different, as well with people eating funny rolled things called Spring Rolls. She had the luxury of not having the need for physical substance. She ate at home only for enjoyment and never for sustenance.
What was that yellow contraption near the wall? Kids here rode on them and she missed the moving sidewalks that took you where you wanted to go.
As she observed those walking, there was something about the walking that was different also. They may have looked like her but they were certainly different.
She was pulled from her world in a flash, just when she was about to use her sonic blaster on the villain Nasty flying from the scene of a robbery. She had ended up on what these people called a chair though how they could sit on such an uncomfortable thing she would never understand.
She could not understand why she was thrown into this crazy world, when she was needed in her world.
Suddenly Metha woke up screaming still clutching the super hero comic book she was reading when she fell asleep.

News from Pigeon Falls
The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal
Tammy and Tommy UK are still having a tough time believing that they were gone four days. To them it certainly hadn’t seemed that long. But Tommy does have a theory. He thinks they were in a different dimension and that time flows differently there. Otherwise they should have been passing out from lack of food and water. But they were just a little hungry and not at all dehydrated. The end of that trench somehow became a door to another dimension. That big spider must have come through it and the green man with the hands coming out of his head was sent to bring it back. Who could possibly know what would come out of the door next or when the door would open. But why had there been nothing in the darkness with him and Tammy? he wondered. Why didn’t they hear something or feel something. There was just one mystery on top of another.
Then there was the voice of the one that got them out. Tommy had heard that voice before and he was trying desperately to remember where.
It seemed to be on the very edge of his memory but he just could not pull it forward.

Wrap UP
Spent the day working on Thursday and Friday's blogs. Tomorrow I hope to finish Friday and get Saturday done as well. My grandsons are coming Friday night and so I am really trying to get ahead. Betty and I also went off to Church for a fellowship meal. That was great. Then I visited half of the blogs that left comments yesterday I will do the rest in the morning. Now I need a breathing treatment.

Hmmm I wonder what voice he is hearing? Maybe a father perhaps? or a Martian? Odd

I love the stories you two write together. Very interesting with fun surprises.

I hate when there's something stuck on the edge of your mind.

I always try to figure out WHO started the story when you two write together... It's so difficult! I think you've been married so long that you really do share ONE mind anymore! LOL!

How about Tammy? What does she remember? I bet the voice was Tommy's FATHER! Oh will this mystery EVER be solved?

What a fun story. I rather imagine that you and Betty can finish one another's sentences. Now that take talent!

The stories you and Betty create together have a special kind of magic. This one was no exception. It was a truly delightful read.

I, too, am wondering if the voice Tommy heard could be his real father?

I'm so sorry I haven't been over here for a while. No real excuse, just the pressures of life.
you and Betty make a great writing team. How do you you do it? It must take a lifetime of experience and two minds totally in tune with eachother. It's lovely.
