A Quilly day. Time to take Quilly’s three words for the day and write a story. The words are opsimath; obarmate; assiduity Click on any blue highlighted word to get a definition.

Chief Ican looked at the chart in front of him. Everything was there thanks to his personal assiduity It started with Charles decision to obarmate the threat posed by the orchestra director and buying a colt 45. It continued with that gun being used in the murder of the Director. Then the gun was found in the locked safe of the DA to which only she had the combination. Subsequent investigation noted that she sometimes left the safe open and that both Charles and the Mayor could have put the gun in the safe. He was now convinced that the killer was the Mayor but had no way to prove it. The mayor was an old hand at fallaciloquence and told a very convincing story. There was no hard evidence to use to convict him. The Chief felt that if he didn’t act with impigrity the Mayor would, to use an icasm , beat the rap.
The Chief decided the only thing he had going for him was the uxorious nature of the Mayor. So he took the police amanuensis with him and went to interview the Mayor in his office. He explained to the Mayor that they were just wrapping up all the loose ends. The State’s Attorney he told the Mayor felt they had more than enough evidence to prove that the DA had committed a cold and calculated murder and should get the death penalty. At this the Mayor looked like he had been hit with a baseball bat.
“You can’t give her the death penalty. Not my isangelous sweet wife. She’s innocent. “ He said.
“I know you feel that way. I mean she is your wife. But we have no doubts. Look at her hitonious actions in trying to blame Charles. No she is not only guilty but deserves to die.” The chief responded.
“ You can’t kill her. She’s innocent. I did it. I killed him.” the Mayor was crying now.
“ I know you love her but the evidence is all there. You couldn’t have done it. The gun was locked in her safe and only she had the combination.” the Chief responded.
“ No the safe was unlocked. I put the gun there. I really did” he cried.
“If that were true the housekeeper would have seen you and I questioned her. I don’t think she’d lie.” the chief answered back.
“She didn’t see me. I came home and she was in the kitchen . I put the gun in the safe which was open and then I left.” he went on
“ You want us to believe that you went into the house during the day which we know from your previous testimony you never did. Put the gun in the safe and left. You’d make up any kind of story to save you wife’s life.” Chief Ican said shaking his head.
“But it’s true. Charles was there and he will tell you I came in and the housekeeper was in the kitchen.. The Mayor said in desperation.
“Okay. I believe you. The amanuensis will write up all of what you just said and you will sign it. Then I will try to convince the State’s Attorney that it’s true.”
With a signed confession in hand Chief Ican arrested the Mayor.
Things went very quickly after that. The DA represented her husband and got a plea bargain with the State’s Attorney so he only got twenty years in prison.
Chief Ican sent his resume to Pigeon Falls and decided if they turned him down he would become an opsimath at the University. He always wanted to be a nurse.

And of course with Quilly's words comes the required quivel. Remember to write quivel you must write something that looks like a poem, any style , but is so bad that if it was printed in a book of poetry a true poetic zoilist would tear it out and burn it. What looks like bad haiku is really qiku where the middle line must always contain a Quilly word.

Surrender not to the strife
fallaciloquence could not her move
From her isangelous groove
hitonious forces are what she saw
People with impigrity breaking every law
To use an icasm they really stink
And at that she would not wink
She would enter law enforcement

News from Pigeon Falls

The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal
Another day passed with no sign of Tommy UK or Tammy. There have also been no sightings of giant spiders or men in black. Even Willie has seen nothing out of the ordinary.
Mrs. Trumble though looking very worried said that life has to go on and called a town council meeting to consider the hiring of a replacement Constable. So many new resumes had come in that the Council decided to start over. They gave a committee of three members the task of taking the 3017 resumes and narrowing them down to ten. They needed to move with speed since the Constable was leaving at the end of the month.
Eino decided to run an experiment. He had one of his men go into the trench late at night to check the equipment. His man reported that when he went in the lights came on as they were supposed to. Eino checked the video and the lights were indeed on but his friend was nowhere to be seen. Something was blocking the cameras from recording what was there. It was like an invisibility shield. But that made no sense.
Tonight Eino and Mrs. Trumble planned on going to the trench with a separate video camera. Eino intends to stand in the trench and have Mrs. Trumble video tape him with the separate camera. Eino intends to get to the bottom of this mystery.
The latest rumor at Nancy’s is that the trench is a landing place for Martians. They land and take off from there and they have Tommy UK and Tammy. The man in black is one of them.

Wrap UP

It was so good to come to the end of that story which just ran away from me. I never intended it to be that long but it just kept growing and growing. But it's done. I visited all the blogs that left comments yesterday and all the blogs that I knew wrote today with Quilly's words. Betty has gone to a funeral and I need a breathing treatment.
