Poem A day- April 17

April 17
All I want is to be done

Poems I hate to write
Make my muscles tight
Everyday I have to fight
To get a poem just right

I want to be done
I want to run
I want some fun
Want to see the sun

I’ll go to the store
Who knows what for
Prompt me no more
It makes me sore

All I want is to be done.

I am so feeling this way, too! Yesterday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:57 p.m., I didn't even see my house! Work, car repair, OC's concert followed by a 2.5 hour rehearsal for tonight's concert.

I am tired. I didn't get to visit most of the people who wrote to my prompt and now I am whining!

I need sleep, but I have a poem to write .....

I wish it was day and day and day lol
I remember when I had the drama props to do.for my sons class. My whole house was a 20 footwide by 12 foot high canvass which I had to sew and then paint.
Blue material on top, green in the middle and brown at the bottom
Made it easier this way for painting skies grass and ground.
But I loved doing it. The pictures people took in front of it after the play made so many memories for every one. It made me so happy.:)

This is why I cannot take on a month-long assignment. A week of poems (even a week of haiku!) I can accomplish, but an entire month? That is just too high of a level of commitment for me.

I do agree with this poem today! And I really dOn't know how I'm going to do it when I'm driving next week! But we'll see! I HATE to be a quitter! I really wanna MAKE it! LOL! I don't know why.... I guess just because I took the challenge -- and I don't "challenge" myself often enough anymore... and because I really am better at poems than stories... there's always that! At any rate... I think you expressed your desires VERY WELL today! :)

There's something metaphor-like about this poem.

I've been catching up on your poems and thoroughly enjoying myself. I think your Love poem is very special.
I haven't written today's poem yet,
after I finish work tonight I hope.
God Bless. :)
