Saying for the Day
What is the difference between unethical and ethical advertising? Unethical advertising uses falsehoods to deceive the public; ethical advertising uses truth to deceive the public. ~Vilhjalmur Stefansson, 1964

Picture of the Day

Well the election is now behind us.
I found a few cartoons that express how I feel and I thought I would share them with you.

News from Pigeon Falls
The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal.
Herman couldn’t be happier with the election results. He now considers himself a first class seer. He can hardly wait until his next vision. But since his visions seem to depend on his getting drunk and coming home late his wife has promised him that the next vision will cause her to get a divorce and he will be out on the street. So he has thus far refrained. But every day he considers it. He can taste it. He wants it . He really wants to be somebody and be important.

So far no one has an idea on what the three things on the roof might mean. Nancy has offered free coffee for a month and Tommy UK has the Tommy Club working on it but nobody seems to have any idea what they mean. But the shadow hasn’t started to fall and so they have time.
Tommy TW is studying the driblet looking for some clues there that might have been missed.
Other than the fact they may soon cease to exist things are fairly normal in Pigeon Falls.
Their representative on the county Board will be a Democrat , in fact Democrats swept the county. Most people in Pigeon Falls will be glad to see Bush and Company go. If they could they would blame him for the coming crisis of shadow and light. After all he is the President and he is to blame for everything.
Old Mrs. Pemberthy, who voted Republican, is sure that because Obama got elected she won’t be able to get a plumber to fix her pipes. Obama is going to drive all plumbers out of business she says. She gets confused so easily and all those adds just got to her.
Mrs. Reinhold Maki voted for Obama because as she put it; “He’s going to give me $1000 . I tried his calculator and that’s what it said I would get. The other candidate only offered me $150 “.
Everyone is happy to have and end to political adds.

Wrap UP
It was a good day. My oxygen was still in the normal range in the morning and my cold seems to be going away. I scanned pictures in the morning. In the afternoon we worked on the layout. We put in roads, some trees for the forest, a field for the farm, a maple syrup activity, and a station.
It is starting to shape up. I then visited all my links. I try to do that on Friday. Now I need a breathing treatment.

Okay okay okay... so the big BLACK bird is going to come flying over Pigeon Falls (cormorant or otherwise) and DIE ... (that would make it the wrong bird for Pigeon Falls)... FALLING to the ground taking out a field of cows AND old Mrs. Pemberthy's rocking chair. NOW the town will have to change it's name to Cormorant Falls... thus, Pigeon Falls will cease to exist! How's THAT???

Old Mrs. Pemberthy is The One -- she's off her rocker! And something is going to happen to the Milk Train... I think it's going to jump the track!

I am so glad it's over. Now maybe we can get moving again. No matter my personal thoughts on the winner, he is now going to be the president, so we need to become "One Nation Under God", and work with him, to solve our problems.

My Dad used to say once everything is over after a long time, it was similar to going to the Dentist with a toothache, once the tooth was pulled there was great relief.

A Blessed Day is wished for you and Betty.

Now we know why most other democracies do not have a fixed schedule for elections. Of course, if We the People would simply declare "We will vote for no person who begs for our vote more than 90 days before an election", none of this would befall us. Yeah, I know, dragons fly, too. ;)

Fun take on the election ending. I think everyone is glad to see it end and the ads to stop until next go round.

lol a bit like everything in life
Hours slaving in the kitchen
and then it is goobled in a jiffy

A whole lifetime working for a decent pension - and then one rolls over and dies (or is too old to really enjoy it)

I guess the only thing that is different is unprotected sex for a fertile woman
three minutes (or thirty seconds) of passion - followed by nine months of child bearing and then years of nappy changes, bathing the baby, washing the dity clothes, feeding ...

Oh hold on
I guess for the man contributing sperm or baby making is still the same - was that it? is it over? so soon?
