A Saturday Meme

Today's Saying

What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now. ~Author Unknown

I forgot I was doing this.

Eight Saturday Questions:

In the past week have you done any high cultural activities like see theatre, opera or visit a museum?
You have to be kidding. I’m a country boy.

Do you consider yourself a cultured person overall?
Nope ( takes straw out of mouth)

What is your favourite high culture activity?
Shootin rats at the dump.

Have you ever been a participant/performed in a cultured activity?
Made buttermilk once does that count?

Do you prefer pop culture or high culture?
Difficult choice for the uncultured.

Was there anything in this past week that you couldn’t wait to be done with?
Yep.
If so, what?
Being sick.

Did you clear it out of the way or will it face you once the new week resumes?
I hope it’s over. Boy do I hope

Do you now know how to prevent such a thing from occurring in the future?
I really wish I did. Boy do I wish I did

With roughly a month and a half to go Pastor Joan is wishing it was time already. She has tried to keep a full schedule and not let her pregnancy interfere with her ministry but she feels so tired. She looks in the mirror and thinks that she looks like a balloon. She feels the baby kick and she is excited but she is still tired. Her last check up showed that the baby was doing fine. If only it were late October and she could hold him in her arms. But it isn't. She has an appointment later this morning with Herman. She wants him to fill in while she is having the baby and spending some time with it. She is going to have the congregation commission him to do Communion and if the Bishop doesn't like it, TOUGH. She doesn't plan on being gone long and Herman will do well.
She sits back and marvels at how God works. It wasn't too long ago that Herman was one of the town drunks, drunk more than sober. But now he was a spiritual soldier in God's army. One of God's marvelous surprises. How can people keep from believing?
She tries to set all those thoughts aside and get back to working on the sermon for tomorrow.

God is amazing. I understand he has even provided spiritual council from time to time through a blog soap opera. That's pretty incredible.

I kind of think you're much too hard on yourself with respect to the culture vs uncultured. Or maybe it's because I'm a coal miner's daughter/granddaughter/great-granddaughter and a country girl at heart that I see and like your brand of culture much more than those who often merely think themselves to be haute culture, ya know. Keep the straw in your mouth -it adds a good touch! I am however having a hard time envisioning you shooting rats at the dump though. LOL -Maybe with word bullets now and then, perhaps?
Good weekend to you and yours and please stay on the good health track too!
