Poem a Day-April 30
April 30
Farewell Revisited
Farewell
I hated that word
I always did
It meant
It is over
It is done
The good days are gone
Gone
Gone
Old friends vanish
Never seen again
Gone
Gone
Gone
Relatives you loved
Are no more
Gone
Gone
But not today
Today it means
No more
Prompts.
It means I’m
Free
Free
Free
Today it is a wonderful word
Farewell
Poetry thing
Farewell Robert
Farewell nonsense
Gone
Gone
Gone
Hooray
And then again
Hooray
Farewell
Farewell Revisited
Farewell
I hated that word
I always did
It meant
It is over
It is done
The good days are gone
Gone
Gone
Old friends vanish
Never seen again
Gone
Gone
Gone
Relatives you loved
Are no more
Gone
Gone
But not today
Today it means
No more
Prompts.
It means I’m
Free
Free
Free
Today it is a wonderful word
Farewell
Poetry thing
Farewell Robert
Farewell nonsense
Gone
Gone
Gone
Hooray
And then again
Hooray
Farewell

Totally Awesome!
I hate goodbyes as well.Death, the final frontier as we know and understand it to be.
It is sad to be left behind and it is sad to move forward along with them. You fear death as you fear life. You fear the unknown.
You long for and fear freedom.
I think man kind is just schizo lol
Freedom never felt so good as no poem to write!
My Mum always used to say "See You Later" whenever she needed to say Goodbye. I asked her one time why she never said Goodbye and she told me that "See you Later" means you'd meet again where "Goodbye" was final. I never forgot that this is why I always now say "See You Later".
A wonderful day is wished for you and Betty.
I think you are glad it's over; D
LOL! I've given up... yep... I'm a quitter! I had a choice this evening to either write some BAD poetry or visit friends. I chose my friends. I don't care about that stupid award anyway! LOL!
First, I need to say that I am very impressed that you hung in there and posted poems for the entire month of April!
But I also need to say that in the situation my friend finds herself in this week (it happened on Thursday) there is pain, anguish, guilt (wrongly so, but there it is), horror, and yes, freedom from fear. Because his version of love had become twisted and his mind corrupted, she had much fear - and now that fear is gone.
