Akelamalu tagged me. But the tag is impossible so I have modified it.
She asked me to list six unimportant things that make me happy but if something makes me happy it is important to me and I can’t consider it unimportant.

So I will list six little things that are important to me because they make me happy.

1. A smile on Betty’s face– Betty’s smile lights up the room, adds to the wonder of the day. It’s just a little thing but very special to me,
2. Maggie chasing a bug– I can watch for fifteen minutes or more while the dog chases a bug on the back porch. She is so serious you would think she was chasing a bird or a rabbit.
3. The little green dragon looking down from my computer. He drives my imagination.
4. Having somebody call me Pastor. For years that’s what everybody called me in Crystal Falls even people who didn’t belong to my Church. But now I’m retired and far away from there and really shouldn’t be called pastor anymore. But now and then somebody at St. Mark’s calls me pastor anyway and I feel good. Just a little thing.
5.A telephone call from either Sister.. We spent so many years fighting. It is so good to be able to openly care for one another. It makes my day.
6. Blogs that kick start memories– It might be just a short entry by some blogger but what they say causes me to remember my childhood, my kid’s childhood, something my Grand mother did,, or all kinds of things. Every memory precious.

The tag came as all tags seem to with another half. I’m supposed to tag six more bloggers. I just can’t do that. I figure if you like the concept you will take and use it . If you don’t you won’t.

AS of today I have decided to remove the comment code. You can now leave a comment and not have to type in those almost unreadable letters.I want people to leave comments so why should I make it hard for them?
Spam is a problem but I’ve thought about that. What harm does it really do me if some business tries to sell flowers with an advertisement on my blog. I will ignore it. My readers will ignore it. No harm done.
I think the problem is we are territorial. We get upset when people cut across our lawn because it is our lawn , even if they don’t hurt anything.
But my friends connivance is worth more than my sense of territory and so lacking an avalanche of spam I will try this.

Good commenting.

News from Pigeon Falls
The little town in my basement where the trains still run, dragons fly, and life is back to normal
Willie swears that on his way home from the Fly Inn Bar at 2:00 in the morning he saw a green man with arms coming out of his head leading a big spider like thing down into the trench behind the Town Hall. He was lying on the ground at the time . He had decided to run past the trench because he was so scared but he tripped and down he went. That’s when he saw the green man. He is now so scared he is thinking of staying sober. But we’ve heard that before.
Eino pulled the video tape for Sunday night. There was Willie as plain as day . You could see him falling. But there was no green man and no spider like object. It looks like what Willie saw came out of a bottle and not the trench.
Eino’s cameras went up on Friday and he now has three nights of video and there has been no activity of any kind. It looks like the trench is just a trench.
Tommy UK is not convinced. He and Tammy spent much of Saturday examining the trench. He used his power ring and says that he detected new and strong power bursts that went from the trench into the woods. He thinks something came from the trench and went to the woods but has no way of knowing what.
But Eino has the video that says there was no activity.
Tommy admits he could be wrong. He is just learning to use the power that he has been given. All of this and the fight with the demon along with his problems with Tammy caused him to put aside his attempt to discover his real parents.

Wrap UP
it was a rough breathing day. It also started badly. We got up to discover that the wind or some animal had knocked down our hanging garden and thrown the pots way out into the lawn. ( Picture tomorrow) . I was about eleven minutes late to Quilly's puzzle on a day when everybody got thre right answer. Betty and I took the mail to the Post Office and mailed out the prize from last Tuesday. That's pretty fast for me. Then we went to the hardware store. I couldn't find what I wanted but Betty bought a lot of stuff. In the afternoon Betty worked on correcting the garden and the boy came and cut our lawn. I went to all the blogs that visited yesterday but one. Well I went to that one but couldn't think of what to say so I left no comment. Now I need a breathing treatment.

Good luck with the spam. Luckily my blog provider has an excellent system to catch them without me doing anything.
It is those little things that add up to the big things in life, i find.

You gave me a morning smile - I love the word 'spam' as it conjours up one of my favourite childhood memories...I loved tinned SPAM ! It was a luxury in those far off days - and I wouldn't say now to a sandwich of the stuff, even today...

Ah, Dr. John -- don't you know you are our pastor? I may not say it, but that is how I think of you.

What a great list. I love each item, and you're so right, if it makes you happy, it's not unimportant, so true! I love how you made Betty's smile your number one, and the green dragon? It figures.

It would never occur to me NOT to think of you as or call you Pastor! You ARE a Pastor... you were ordained... you were never UNordained. Just because you are retired does not take away the love and the knowledge that you have to share. Pastor is one of my most endearing terms for you! I love how you Pastor to me! Most certainly you are still Pastor - and deserve to be acknowledged as such.

I have been tagged with this meme twice - and I keep forgetting to DO it! I think because like you, I was trying to think of something UNimportant that makes me happy... and you hit the nail on the head! If it makes me happy it IS important! I loved your list!

I'd nearly forgotten that Tommy had forgotten about searching for his parents. He never DID have that meeting with his uncle ... did he?

Oh... and I haven't used that anti-spam thing for most of my blog's life -- I RARELY get spam - and when I do, I just delete it. Usually no one even notices it was there. But I think I've only had to DO that maybe 4 or 5 times!

Have a GREAT day today - Pastor!

No. 1 was the best. Ah the small things of life.

I love spam myself...it comes in a blue can and is a big seller here in the islands.

Poor Willie and I hope that Tommy UK learns to use his power soon.

Wonderful post :)

Good morning, Pastor,

Once you have had the heart of a pastor, it remains with you always. Happily I oblige you in the memory of that!

You are the Pastor I read every day. But I haven't posted much lately because I'm in
SW Wis at Sugar Creek Bible Camp playing grandma and then on Saturday, I'll be playing mother of the groom. Ah yes, June is here. Look up Sugar Creek instead of my blog.

I liked this heartfelt post about the "little" but in no way small things that make you happy :) And I have to agree that I also love blogs that kickstart my own memories. I haven't had any problems since removing my word verification :)

There are pastors and then there are Pastors- pastors stay for a while and then move on, different churches, different people but no true home. Pastors, however, remain forever in your heart. You are one of those.

Maybe Pidgeon Falls (should that have been sparrow falls ^_^ or is that too obvious?) to you is a bit like Second Life is to me.

Tho I have less control over SL, a bit like RL that ^_^

As the others before me, I think of you as my Pastor also.

I've seen this ememe a couple places. I think I will use it next Monday.
