Six Words

Today's Saying

There was never a child so lovely but his mother was glad to get him to sleep. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I walk fifteen minutes a day!

Pigeon Falls had six inches of snow fall last night. It looks like this time it will stay for awhile. But the plow is out and the street has been cleared. It has started on the country roads as well and they should be done by noon. Snow doesn’t really bother people in Pigeon Falls. Surprisingly even the dragons fly over despite the cold.
Eugene has been back for most of the week but some people are still discovering that he is back. He has had to tell his story at least fifty times. He almost seems to enjoy the telling but there is always a kind of sadness in his voice.
Petrovich will be back tomorrow on the late train. Grandma and Grampa wanted to keep the girls till Christmas but Petrovich said no. They wanted them at home.
Now that there is some snow tourists with snow mobiles will begin showing up. One can count on Dr. Fortress to run a special train just for snowmobilers and their vehicles. He does every year.
The poltergeist keeps the area in front of Nancy’s Coffee Shop free of both snow and ice. Nobody knows what it does with the snow but there are no piles.

  1. I may need that poltergeist to come live with me when I move.

I am very proud of you for walking. I know it is helping, Dr. John -- keep it up!

  2. Lovely saying and thought provoking as usual...
I am glad you walk that far, yesterday and the day before I did not walk more than three minutes... except around the house upstairs downstairs and cleaning and tidying up.... Does it count?

  7. So glad that the walking continues...hope you do some of it out in the world and not ALWAYS on the blamed walking machine! Today promises to be beautifully wet here, so won't be doing a lot of walking myself lol...so glad that you are feeling better...don't know how we'd get along without you as the Custodial Mayor of Pigeon Falls!

  9. YOU are becoming a Forrest Gump!!! Run Forrest Run! Walk Pastor Walk!!! I know you are feeling better! I LOVE it!

WE are having a bit of a mintery wix right now. It's 42 degrees but feels like 36 and yet we have a slushy icy rainy nowhere near snowfall type of dampness falling from the sky! There must be some sort of battle going on up in the atmosphere!

I would like a poltergeist to keep my front walk clear.

  12. At least 6 inches isn't the constant snow weather warning we are under. They are advising against travelling by vehicle. Roads are closed and will remain so because of the number of accidents.

The temperature is abnormally low for this time of the year and will remain so for the rest of the week.

Pigeon Falls is having it easier than us - but something is bound to happen there. I feel it in my bones. Or is that arthritis?

    15 minutes! Woohooooo! You're travell'n my man.

  15. That saying of the day -really holds a whole lot of truth there for me! Yep, my grandkids -Maya and Kurtis -are both two of the cutest, sweetest little ones ever put on the planet but oh, how happy and relieved I am when they each do finally "crash" at the end of their day and give me some peace and quiet! LOL
Love 'em dearly during the day but even more I think when they are asleep!
