Christmas Cards

Here is a bit of the Linna family Christmas history as seen in old Christmas cards.

@@@@@
News from Pigeon Falls-The little town in my garage where the trains still run and Christmas is a special time-Mrs. Schmidt called Nancy this morning to tell her how wonderful Hawaii was.” There is no snow “ she said at least three times. “ I’m going to have a green Christmas”. She said she even bought a Christmas tree ornament in the local store so she can remember the day. It is a palm tree with gifts underneath. The only thing she is going to miss is Pastor Marvel’s Christmas sermon. They seem to get better every year.
Poor Pastor Marvel has two services this morning and then two more tonight. But he has “ the greatest Christmas Eve sermon ever” done. He will be worn out by Christmas morning and then he has one more service.
All across Pigeon Falls people are getting ready to celebrate the birth of Christ in their own way. Some will go to church twice today. Some won’t go at all. Some will have big family gatherings for others they will be small.
There are lots of family traditions here. Traditions that cover when you open gifts , Eve or day. What you have at your feast. When you put up your tree. Some still put it up on Christmas Eve.
But for all the residents the past year is put aside and the miracle which is and always has been Christmas is all that is really important.

No links until next Wednesday. Have a blessed Christmas.
We did some house cleaning. I visited all the links . We went to Christmas Eve service. It was wonderful to take Holy Communion after such a long absence. Cominh home we tried to make a batch of saffron buns but nobody watched the bread machine and it kicked into bake before we caught it. We lost about half the batch. The buns we got tasted different. Now I need a breathing treatment.
